So the critics are in on a conspiracy to hype this movie?

Yeah, I'm trying to find Ra's al Ghul and train up there. Should have the ultimate Batman experience.

But the Himalayas are more in the western part wheile these mountains I'm hiking are in the more southeastern parts. Most beautiful mountains in the world. James Cameron based the floating mountains in Avatar on these mountains in China.

I can already see a thread

"I mean it was a good movie, but not the greatest movie ever like you guys are claiming" even though no one really said it.

Alot of the reviews have pretty much the same word in all of them. Emotional.

not a good move for a batman movie. IMO. Seriously these are cartoon characters. I don't get emotional abotu them. show me cool batman action stuff and a believable bad guy and an awesome ending. I don't want emotional. I'll watch Terms of Endearment if I want emotional. They will do it better than Chris Nolan .

I think that's the cool part about Nolan's Batman world, that it's somewhat believable. I don't mind the emotional part one bit.

Umm, why? All the truly great Batman films thrive in the emotional aspects and the tragedy behind the narrative. Sure Iron Man it doesn't exactly work, but that is the very foundation of great Batman tales. Emotional darkness and isolation from others. It's the bread and butter of all great Batman stories.

If you want this shite, stick to the Schumacher versions, as well as the Adam West tv series. Did you like Nolan's other films, since it seems you want to go back to the POW, WHAM, BOOM days of Batman.

Then I recommend you watch Grave of the Fireflies. That should prove you can get emotional about animated characters, and if you still can't, then it's easy to conclude you're either a horrible human being or Chinese.

You clearly don't get what makes a good film. How about you watch Super Friends. It seems to be up to your standards and intelligence.

+1

Seriously, dont come bitching because a movie was made too intelligently and with too much skill, unless you're 12 years old

sorry but this is stupid. why should a movie be void of emotion just because it's based on a comic book character? Why should this movie/franchise follow every other comic book movie formula out there? Why shouldn't it be different than the rest? shite, isn't the Toy Story franchise (along with probably every cartoon movie ever made) driven by emotion, yet it's a damn cartoon?

We get it, Ryno, you hate the hype of TDKR, like a shite ton of other people do.

There are 21 reviews out right now, all are positive, and all add up to an average rating of 9.5/10

Time Out London (4/5)
Ottawa Sun (5/5)
IndieWire (A)
The Hollywood Reporter (Positive)
ComingSoon.net (8/10)
Variety (Positive)
Empire (5/5)
Total Film (5/5)
Hitfix (A)
IGN (9/10)
SSG Syndicate (10/10)
Movie City News (Positive)
Mirror (5/5)
Screen Daily (Positive)
MSN UK (5/5)
Courier Mail (4.5/5)
Telegraph (5/5)
Digital Spy (5/5)
Rolling Stone (3.5/4)
Boxoffice.com (3.5/5)

At the very least, Nolan has successfully avoided the third movie curse.

And why would they do that? Do you really think that the critics are giving this movie a pass? Do you think that they wouldn't give an honest review? Do you think they'd risk their reputations by giving an obviously bad movie a great review?

It's clear he's stupid and narrow minded. Aside from Cars 2, Pixar's last 4 films were pretty much entirely driven by emotion of the characters, not really reasoning. That's the entire point of Wall-e when EVE overcomes her directive to save Wall-e, as well as Karl's motive for going to the falls and the entire last act of Toy Story 3.

Agreed. Everyone is looking forward to mowing down the final entry in a trilogy since really only two trilogies before have done it: Toy Story and The Lord of the Rings. Other trilogies are either mediocre or frick it up on the conclusion. Can't say for certain, but it appears Christopher Nolan has created the third perfect trilogy. Really a hell of an accomplishment.

So you want cartoon characters, but you also want "believable bad guys"? Is Arnold's Mr. Freeze your definition of believable? Your 'critique' makes no sense

When I checked back on this thread, I figured this post would blow up the thread into an intelligent conversation.

He trolled

Also, Nolan is giving the critics a share of the box office take to help him "over hype" this movie.
