Saw it today. Really liked it as a send off for the franchise:
1. The stunts were insane. Tom Cruise is starting to show his age a bit but still doing mind blowing stunt work.
2. I thought this one flowed better than the previous one. Much easier to follow and enjoy.
3. Hayley Atwell was looking so very nice in this (no shock).
4. Milkshake did great. Nice to see him getting some more exposure now as a reward for his work on Severance.

It was exhausting but still a fun time. Not as good as Part 1, but still good. Could have edited 20-30 minutes out of it. The scenes on the sub took too long.

I was confused about Gabriel running from Ethan in the bi-plane scene. I thought Gabriel wanted Ethan to come to him.

Yeah that part was unclear to me. Also that eventually he was just cruising and unaware that Ethan came to underneath him. Bit the stunt had to be set up and I quickly ignored how he got there
I think we could pick these movies apart into a thousand pieces… but I guess that’s why they’re called “Impossible.” They tell us this each time before the movie starts, and usually during the film.

The sub scenes was my favorite parts of the movie

Sub scenes were stupendously done, long yes, and predictably arduous but great nonetheless
Sub commander was fantastic

I’ve never seen Severance, so when he first appeared I didn’t know who it was but was expecting a dark, hard response. He had somewhat of a lighter side than what’s typically portrayed by sub captains and I thought it worked well.

I thought the first third was kind of a mess but once he leaves bunker the film really picks up pace.
The unexplained stuff with Luther was a bit annoying and multiple send-offs for him needed tighter editing. He was the heart of the series from MI:1 on.
Some forced callbacks.
I’d rather then have brought back Lane though as Gabriel sucked and was lame and was too much of a Spectre plot driver. He had one go to move and it got old.

I thought he was menacing in the first one and first part of this but his appearance in the second half was phoned in with goofy lines and unnecessary maniacal laughing.

The sub scenes were fantastic.
—I was referring to the too-long scene in the Russian sub withThe Entity on it.
The US sub commander was great. The she-male demolition specialist was yechhhhh

I meant the random hospital bed and nurse and seemingly at deaths doorstep anyway.

Really should have ended the series with Fallout. I’ve enjoyed the last 2 ok but just way too convoluted. And the villain just didn’t have the gravitas to be taken seriously
Also the scene with him going down to the sub I would have had him enter through a hole from the explosion. No way he is able to open the hatch at those pressures.

I thought this role fit Katy O’Brian perfectly. I’ve seen her both in Mandalorian and Twisters, and neither character seemed to work with her style. Here she was giving off Vasquez vibes from Aliens and it worked.

I liked the previous movie, but this was awful. There was maybe 30 minutes of good film in there, the rest was tedious.
The acting was mostly fine, good even. But the writing…damn.
It’s like the AI Entity won and wrote the script.

Basically it's one big set piece and the set up for it, the submarine. I think the studios, trying to pry the box office with these two parters make the movies bloated and bad.
If both movies were edited down properly into one 3 plus hour film, the one film would have been the best of the series. But eh, money.
The scenery in South Africa was incredible, need to film more movies in that landscape
