Pretty sure that Kamino scientist is in some sort of Galen Erso situation.

So, I've seen that reference to Kamino (the patch on his shoulder).

Why do they need a baby yoda? Trying to splice in some Force-sensitive genomes and midichlorians to someone (maybe, create Snoke)?

Current hokey trilogy aside, that actually makes sense. When the New Republic is mentioned, Mando dismisses them as a joke. There's a power vacuum in the galaxy right now.
Senior Imperials would have noted the effectiveness Palpatine used the Force, would have memories of the Jedi, and at/above a certain level would be aware of what tech is available at Kamino. Sure, you're risking near-certain deformities (Snoke, anyone?), but the tradeoff is "unlimited power"- to quote Palpatine.

And you don't need to be a Sith, Jedi or anything else, if- as the prequels indicated- it's a measurable biological effect. Those are just mental disciplines to better harness the Force.

So anyway, the good doctor studied the baby and did some stuff, before Mando retrieved it, and left him alive. Maybe he got enough info to splice in the midichlorians, but not enough to do it perfectly- which is why Snoke would look like shite.

It’s pretty clear they are using the Force from him for some Imperial means - Palpatine.

Snoke was an extremely wealthy dark side Force user who was basically using the First Order as his own Blackwater mercenary unit.

Imagine if Jeff Bezos was Rambo-like and wanted to use a massive paramilitary group to assume and maintain control of the US and you have Snoke.

the entire final shoot out scene kind of fell flat for me.

I’m loving this show so far, but that scene fell flat for me as well. I was expecting his armor to play a more integral role in getting out of there. And it’s not clear why the other Mandalorians chose this moment to take some sort of stand - it would’ve made more sense if they were fighting imperial troops.

But everything else about this show is great so I’m excited for next week.

I know I’m about to catch a lot of flack but this show isn’t that great. It’s good and baby yoda is awesome but the dialogue is pretty cheesy and the fight scenes are so over the top unrealistic that it takes me out of the episode. I’m not saying it can’t turn into a really good show but it’s not there yet for me

These complaints is what I don't get. It's all cheesy, always has been.

I finally watched endgame for the first time last night because it's on the app. That was cheesy as frick. I can't believe some loser fricks broke records watching that in theaters.

All Star Wars stuff could be this great if they would get rid of Kathleen Kennedy.

Look I'm not a KK fan at all, but, if you give her all the blame you have to give her the credit as well. She is responsible for The Mandalorian, she listened to the pitch for the show, she thought is was a good idea for a series and she greenlit the show. She is the one who suggested Favreau team up with Filoni on this show. You can't blame her for the trilogy (I do) but not give her credit for this.

That being said I do hope the rumors are true and that she is gone when her contract runs out and that Favreau and Filoni will take over all of Star Wars because she has gotten more wrong than right

Must have been a real hard decision for her to let known quantities make a Star Wars show. What a great job she did.

As opposed to the nobodies

JJ Abrams
Rian Johnson
Ron Howard

What a stupid argument

Or she could be tone deaf, approving good projects, and bad ones, without being able to tell the difference.

Awesome episode. Wish they were longer too but they fill every minute with action or plot moving scenes. Very little filler at all in this series.

It was formulaic and self indulgent. With each minor character trotted out, at the appropriate time, for a moment of fan service.

So where does "Mando" take lil yodee?

Was he the only Madalorian with a ship? Does the rest of the group have to fend for themselves?

I wonder what they were trying to extract from lil yodee? DNA? Metachlorians?

As a old Boba Fett fan I loved that scene. It's what I wanted.
I haven't found anything really cheesy compared to the movies. This is a well placed, well set show.
It feels like a movie serial.

I'm enjoying the series.

Still don't know how you can have bounty hunters, bounties, bribes, payoffs and no DAMN HUTTS!

Also, LOL at the SJW's,Feminists, and Male Feminists, who cried that there was only 1 female in the first episode and other episodes. Some of the Soy boys even counted the minutes till first female(or female voice) was heard or seen. LOLOLOL

Also, Disney must of been desperate, or JF put his foot down for them to allow the writer/producer to create this and not give away spoilers with toys(baby yoda, etc) It's something others never got. Toys were always sold early, and became spoilers. We all know Baby yodas would be one of top sellers this xmas had JF allowed toy spoilers

My theory is that Yoda was cloned before the events of Episode 2 Attack Of The Clones. Attack Of The Clones happened 40 years before Mandalorian but the clone army project discovered by Obi-Wan was created 10 years before Episode 2. That's 50 years...which is where I'm drawing this conclusion. There is no evidence I can find that Yoda had any involvement in the clone making but some sneaky Sith could have been involved seeing how bad the former Empire wants "Baby Yoda."

Plus, look at the patch on the doctor's arm:

In terms of known quantities, Rian Johnson was not one.
