It tracking for 24 million less than Solo is not great Bob. What kind of legs does this movie really have?

They need word of mouth to be good for this, it could turn around the franchise. You can't fix what the sequel trilogy did to it, but "the Mandoverse" could at least make it viable again.
Afterall, this is immediate post-ROTJ era, it's established that Luke at his prime is at least an option. That's all most Star Wars fans ever really wanted.

You are being intentionally obtuse, but Mario and Sonic are doing fine as well.

Sonic had a $60 million opening weekend.

Mario did $131 million.

This movie will be somewhere in between.

The same theaters that saw an R rated biopic and a plastic doll brand both cross the $1 billion box office? “But muh covaids!” I thought the Disney sycophants had finally moved on from that excuse.

It blows my mind that people are so passionate about shite like this. Y’all actually argue about this stuff.

Whats funny is he brought up Oppenheimer which did almost exactly what this movie is projected to do opening weekend at $82 million (in July at that).

Dune Part Two also did $82 million.

I don't know but I'd be willing to bet he's on the MSB calling LeBron LeTurd, LeRetard, LeBitch, etc.

You get it? He's replaced Bron with Turd. it's hilarious.
I am not tht clever, How's about Le Une Celebrite En Declin?

Catchy, I know

I am as hard on Lucasfilm as anyone

Because I am a lifelong fan of the franchise

But, as everyone knows, If I like it I will sing it's praises. . .even if everyone hates me for it

and if I dislike it, I will call it out. . .even if everyone hates me for it

Fear of message board sandy vaginas, or corporate fluffers, as never altered my trajectory in the slightest

But as with every new product, I want it to be good so badly

Not enough Star Wars fans to carry this movie. Most hate the show, especially Grogu and China hasn’t supported Disney movies for awhile now so you’re looking at a box office with a partial core base that’ll be missing a key foreign market. 400mil tops, it won’t break even.

Not necessarily true...

Most are wary at this point, but they exist. Like I said, good word of mouth- a Star Wars film worth watching- and this could blow up big time.

I'm on the bubble. I want it to be good and revive the franchise, but I can't say I'm planning on going for sure. I want to hear actual reviews.

I didn’t mean there aren’t enough Star Wars fans, I meant not enough of them are interested in this.

Again, word of mouth will be key. If it's good, people will come out.

This is the timeline Star Wars fans have wanted, ever since the OT. Crazy that's taken over 40 years to finally get to put it on the big screen.
Has everything been great with The Mandalorian? No, but there's been some elite moments.

I get needing to test out the tech and concept of deep-faking an actor, but if they could have saved the first "Luke to the rescue" moment for this movie, it would have made this a smash hit. I kinda think they're going to do it in this, somewhere in the 3rd act. Makes too much sense not to. We've already established a relationship between him and the leads in this movie, and they spent a few episodes ironing out how to do Luke.

I think they kept it out of the trailers to avoid everyone hyper-analyzing whether his mouth moves correctly for a month, but I could see a clip emerging like the day before.

S1 was good
S2 had good and bad but fans did love the Skinwalker moment I agree.

That has worn off, it’s now seen as a cheap trick because it meant nothing since they undid the entire storyline and S3 was awful. They even had to give this movie a wonky title because the Mando storyline turned into the Bo-Katan story. These are the reasons the core fans have checked out. Sure you have people who by habit just watch D+ like kids used to watch CN and DC who know what’s going on but normies have no clue how we’ve gotten from Si-Fi western to adventures in babysitting with a little gremlin who’s either a psychopath or retarded. Now you’re right, if it’s great it will do well but where are the markers for that is my question because they all seem to indicate the opposite.

Feel like this is the kind of movie that could have legs if it’s actually good.

Yea, Mando at least had a solid start so if it’s good there is some love for it out there that can bring people in.

That button pushing scene where Mando is trying to tell Grogu what buttons to NOT push ought to bring in the fans, huh?

Grogu is a microcosm for Disney Star Wars. The character was an unexpected plus for the show and instead of smartly capitalizing on him they completely botched it to the point where the character is stupid as a character and fans now hate it. But it looks like they’re just continuing on going down the same path. You know what they’re going to do right? There’s going to be some big key gangling moment where they’ll butcher something from the OT or other beloved character/event. That’ll be the hook for the movie but it won’t work.

i have high hope. I think Fellini kinda brought in to much Rebels lore and it stopped being The Mandolorian in season 3. I am thinking this is more of a fresh start for Mando.
