LOVED Man of Steel.
BvS was beautiful, amazing action and the best Batman fight scene in his history (Affleck was great as well), but the movie suffered from some bad storytelling in places.
JL Snyder Cut is unreleased and therefore, we don’t yet know its quality

I’m guessing you are the same person who thinks Superman Returns was too hokey and not edgy enough.
MOS was very good. Great? No, but it accurately depicts how we as a nation would greet a God with apprehension and ostracize him.
BvS suffers from two big issues: Eisenburg’s Luther interpretation and trying too be Frank Miller’s TDK. We needed more of a buildup between Bruce and Clark before just jumping in there. Additionally, Gotham and Metropolis should never that close, more like Chicago and NYC. The extended edition was better than the theatrical cut, and I’m going to give an unpopular opinion regarding “Martha.”
The movie begins with Thomas Wayne uttering Martha’s name with his dying breath. Then we are introduced to a Batman who is killing criminals and does so even in rescuing Martha—that’s the biggest issue I have. Batman has COMPLETELY lost his humanity. He doesn’t know Clark’s history, and yeah, hearing Clark say, “Save Martha” would be jarring to say the least.
The hate for that as the catalyst to center Bruce once more is way too much. Hearing your murdered mother’s name in that situation would be jarring for anyone.

I actually liked Man of Steel a lot, I hated Batman vs Superman

The Batman warehouse scene in BvS is the most comics-accurate, live-action, Batman scene ever put on film to this point.
Idk about most comic accurate because he seemed to have no qualms about killing some goons. But the scene was very similar to the Arkham game style of fighting. Easily the best and most awesome Batman live action fight. It made me want to see a whole Batfleck movie.

MOS: 7/10
BVS: 5.5/10
However...the BVS: Ultimate Edition? 7.5/10.

The extended cut of Batman vs. Superman is much better than the theatrical cut.

MoS I'll give it a 7, it didnt wow me, but upon rewatch it more more visceral on screen and beautifully shot than any of its contemporary marvel movies.
Letting Johnathan died to a Tornado was stupid, that scream after he broke Zod neck was overly dramatic. The rest was legit.
BvS Theater cut was weird, give it a 5/10. The Ultimate edition was much better put together. 7/10.
Justice League was a shite show 4/10
And I like the DC heroes.

My biggest complaint with Man of Steel was the tornado scene.
Jonathan should have barely survived it and that would be the catalyst for Clark leaving a few months later after he graduated high school.
Zod would have killed him when he went to the Kent farm and that would have added another layer to that station scene. Zod killed his father, his surrogate father who were both protecting their son (Clark) and was about to kill another father who was just trying protect his family and had to make that hard choice to directly and willingly not just harm but kill another being. Keep in mind, Jonathan had been teaching him to avoid or leave any confrontation and not to reveal his strength, plus directly killing another being for the first time in your life with that being also being the last living soul from your home world took a toll on him.
And Flight is one of the top 5 scenes in any superhero movie ever made and I will throw hands at any Sonic with anyone who disagrees.

I loved Man of Steel. It was the movie my adult self always wanted to see about Superman. The setting, visuals, and tone were fantastic. I can still love and watch Superman the Movie and love both. Who knew such a thing was possible.
I feel the exact same way. How many corny arse Clark Kent-focused stories with campy villain Superman movies do we need?

Now all of a sudden you all are pining for Snyder's cut of Justice League? Is this due to your thinking that Snyder has made two good movies, or is it more that you are buying into the hype machine that Warner/DC is spinning on you with this?
100% correct. Snyder didn’t suddenly become good at superhero movies. His original cut would have been an even bigger train wreck than the JL cut that went to theaters

Trash.
Trashier.
Trashiest.
Hack Snyder is a shite director. And I don’t get his sycophants.

MoS- 3/10
BvS- 1/10
Both just awful films. MoS has its moments, but the ending might be the least self aware overly violent shite show I’ve ever seen. Soundtrack is good though, and Henry Cavill and Michael Shannon are well cast though.
As for BvS, there is only one good scene in that movie in where Batman goes to the warehouse and that’s it. Every choice made in this movie was the wrong one. Like just casually killing off Jimmy Olsen after a single minute... ummm, why? And making Luthor into a parody of Mark Zuckerberg, are you fricking kidding me? If you were going to base him off of a modern evil genius, you should clearly base him on Elon Musk.

Agreed. The scene where Supes is about to kill Batman and then Batman says Mar-

Yeah yeah. That’s the one I meant too.
ETA: or is it the other way? I forget, I’ve only seen it once.

Yes! The raw physicality is something we’d never seen from Batman.

That would’ve made more sense

Don’t get me wrong, I still think that somewhat played a part in the decision, but it was clearly a secondary motive to “oh frick he’s about to kill these people right in front of me unless I snap his neck”.

My biggest complaint with JL was the timing, it came out too soon. We should have had Aquaman first, then we should be getting Cyborg and Flash (if that's who's in it), BEFORE the team-up.
Snyder's cut will not solve that.
I don't care if we all "know" who they are, we don't know the cinematic versions. I'd like more Batfleck beforehand, too. The complaints about him killing people, you can take that from BvS, and have him become progressively more non-lethal in cameos in the later films, and in his own feature (that they should have made).
I have no desire to see a tweaked "original" JL, or even for them to burn it down and start over again. It's on screen, we've seen that. We've now seen Aquaman, Shazam, and other stuff. They're getting their footing under them. I want to see Superman and Shazam together now, against a worthy opponent.
