Not how I envisioned it.
Edit: I was expecting to see the actual hit to the head

Well you see it briefly in the background of the fighting. Maekar turns around swinging and it hits him, but it’s really brief.

I was expecting to see a piece of skull fall. Did I make that up?

In the book his skull was caved in.

It’s at about the 32 minute mark. Dunk stands up after he has Aerion straddled underneath him (where he yields). And you see Maekar with the flail turn and hit him. It’s pretty foggy and it’s a really quick scene as Dunk is looking around dazed.

Dunk took a lot more damage than in the book, at least from what I remember.

How is season 2 suppose to stack up to this impressive season? The second dunk and egg book isnt really that eventful....unless its mostly flashbacks to the blackfyre rebellion which would be sick

There's a good, climactic fight on the 2nd book, with a love interest. I have faith.

I can't figure out why they didn't depict Ser Lyonel as The Laughing Storm. Why would they not do that? Also, I don't remember him having that much of a beef with Baelor. He definitely says something about the chivalry of Baelor choosing to face the KG knights, but that's it.

Book 1 was my favorite

Book 2 just has less big consequences for the realm but was still a fun read

Was wondering that too. They didn’t even depict it during the regular tourney. My guess for not doing it this episode is that he likely had his hands full so not much laughing to be had but can someone jog my memory - does the book have Lyonel laughing in the trial of seven? Truly don’t remember

I can see the damage, but I was anticipating more Dunk rage when it went to the ground.

Like some “holy frick, this guy is a monster when the light switch goes off” type rage and power.

Looking forward to the last episode. Season 2 won’t be as anticipated as the 3rd will be simply because of the lore building that the mystery knight contains.
