I stopped paying attention after about 30-40 mins. I appreciate that it wasn’t an origin story, but not being a comic book nerd, I had no idea who most of the characters were.

I'm a DC fan. I bought hundreds of DC comics in the 80s and 90s. All the death of a Superman/ batman broken I had. I had most of the Xmen too. Some Avengers and other off topics. I'm a huge comic fan.
To that extent I get that movies will not follow comics.
Every movie named I saw in theaters. Beatle, black Adam. Every mcu film. Every dc film. I don't give a frick if it's Gunn, Snyder or Christopher fricking Reeves. I'm going to go see it. Ok, I didn't go see Marvels in theaters. That's the ONE i didn't see in theaters. So no. I'm not going to let some shitty troll who barely watches anything besides fricking YouTube sit here and call me a Gunn Cuck.

I didn’t write the article. I didn’t tally the numbers. I just posted it.
And all that was pointed out was that Black Adam initially got more minutes streamed than Gunn’s Superman. Which is a little funny because that was the last we saw of Henry Cavill as Superman.

I can understand not liking this movie but I don’t get the desire for it to be crapped on after it goes to streaming.

The numbers are the numbers.
It underperformed, at the box office and as the tentpole for Gunn's DCU ( or GCU) many don't care for the overall world this movie exists. Plus, Superman isn't a movie Gunn should have been put in charge of. He doesn't get the character. Doesn't grasp or comprehend the lore. How he treated the Kents, and Kalel's Kryptonian parents, and even Superman himself, doesn't sit well with many.
