great episode.
middle of the pack for this season though.
kinda nervous that next weeks episode got such a low score (7.2) - the previews looked awesome but I think most are for 2 weeks from now when we get Hurley centric .

from my understanding the ratings do not mean the people actually saw the entire episode.
I heard the producers let the group see some full episodes, see some scenes from episodes and see scripts or parts of scripts... Maybe they just saw bits and pieces of next week and thats why it got a low score.
I like the theory someone threw out about the pockets of energy.
I mean we knew that the hatch "reset" the energy pocket it was sitting on and therefore saved the world. Since the energy pocket was essentially destroyed maybe that gives MIB the opportunity to leave. If the island is a prison, Jacob is the warden, the others are the guards and the energy pocket could play some sort of electric fence or wall.
Maybe widmore wants to move the island to another energy pocket so that they can have that extra "protection"
I dont know... I just love this show.

also, i have never been a sayid fan but I really hate him now... I hate how he can no longer be redeemed, or atleast i dont think he can after the convo with MIB about not feeling anything.

This episode also felt like it was only about 35 minutes long..is it just me or did the commercials seem almost as long as the episode itself?
Tivo/DVR
I never watch a show live, I wait until 20 min after the hour and fast forward through the commercials....it makes Lost much more enjoyable.

More enjoyable yeah, but you still have to FFWD through commercials every 7 minutes or so, which is massively annoying.
I thought last night's episode was okay. Like someone said, it was kinda a filler episode, which is fine I guess...but it's a little late in the game for filler episodes IMO. The whole FLocke/Whidmore exchange was awesome. I really dig Terry O'Quinn in his new role of this last season...he plays it well.
Super pumped to see Desmond. The whole time after Whidmore said it's a "who" I was saying out loud "Please be Desmond...please be Desmond.." so I was geeked when it was. Interesting to see what Whidmore has in store for him since he basically seems to be like a prisoner.
Also, the dude who plays Mikhail (Andrew DIvoff)...how the hell is he not related to Michael Ironside..??

I ask again, what do we think the significance of the pockets of energy is? Are the writers just throwing it in there so the button pushing has relevance to the story?
Also, Flocke said that Kate was not a candidate and neither was Claire.... So who are the remaining six that Llana spoke of?
1) Jack
2) Hurley
3) Sawyer
4) Kwon
5) Kwon??? May only be one
6) ????
Like I said before, we can assume that Sayid is no longer a candidate and neither is Locke....
So there are 1 or 2 "candidates" that we don't definitely know of.
Desmond?
Ben? (Dont remember if he was crossed off the wall)
Richard?

why would MIB need a replacement if one of the others step up as a candidate and keep him on the island??

her name was on the wall, i think this is a lie ad she is a candidate - basically anyone who has ever been on the island has a number associated with them and was on the wall/wheel

Her name was on the wall, but not the lighthouse. If the lighthouse is Jacob's I have a hard time believing she is a candidate.

That V graphic really pissed me off last night.

Pretty sure she was on the wheel but not the wall.

But we aren't 100% sure that Kate is the right Austen...
I just think there is more to it since the writers have now gone out of their way to show here on the wheel and then state that she is not on the wall. We shall see.
But nobody has answered my pockets of energy question.... What is going to be the significance of it

You're right just looked on Lostpedia. But, I still don't think Kate's a candidate based on MIB basically telling Claire she could kill her after he was done using her.

While Kate Austen was not seen to be one of the candidates, Carlton Cuse said in a 2010 Paley Fest interview that her name does appear on the wall crossed out, making her a former candidate, and he apologized for the footage not making the final cut.
