Yeah, he was pretty emphatic. Smokie leaving = end of world.

While I think Widmore is a bad guy, I don't think Widmore is nearly as bad as people have made him to be. I think he is just power-hungry. I certainly don't think he is any worse than pre-confession Ben.

He is probably right about Flocke, but obviously his motives are bigger than saving the world.

How was Keamy still alive? I thought he got a couple nice bullets. I want him dead, but also love his character.

He was only shot once, although he was shot in the heart to where I don't see him living much longer. I would like for him to so he would personally hunt Sayid in the alternate timeline: LINK

Just finished. Two things:

1) I'm surprised nobody's mentioned this, but when Jack was talking to Sun about planting the tomatoes, he said, "I remember when you 1st planted those. Seems like 100 years ago." Perhaps it was

2) Sun is on a goddamn beach, and that bitch doesn't immediately think to use a stick or her fricking fingers to write some shite in the sand in English?

didn't he only say that it was the end of the world for everyone the oceanic people know/love? Doesn't mean the end of the world.

That was a pretty badass scene.

I thought so too. I really liked that episode and didn't expect much out of it.

I'm guessing right now the remaining 5 have basically replaced Jacob for the time being as sort of a failsafe. If while Jacob was alive he could convince Jacob to leave the Island with him he could. This is exactly what he is trying to do with the Candidates, and like Jacob he can't directly kill them either.

that's pretty good. The whole "Do you know how much I want to kill you?" scene makes even more sense with that.

Has anyone mentioned how that STUPID frickING V LOGO COMPLETELY frickED UP THIS EPISODE??

I mean really? It kept distracting my attention and you could barely read what Sun wrote on the pad because it covered up some of the words on the pad.

frickING STOP. ABC is not youtube.

Ridiculous.

This episode also felt like it was only about 35 minutes long..is it just me or did the commercials seem almost as long as the episode itself?

I was thinking... Of all the candidates, are Jack and Hurley the only ones who haven't killed anyone?

I know Hurley ran over someone with the van, but I don't remember if he killed them. Also, I remember Jack shooting at lots of people, but I can't remember if he's actually killed anyone.

Maybe if one of them is the only one who hasn't killed someone, they would be the candidate to replace Jacob.

Ok so why does FLocke have to get the 6 remaining candidates off the island alive with him?

Maybe he has some sort of deal with Jacob about corrupting the candidates? We know there is a war for the souls of the people on the island between Jacob and the MIB because when Richard ultimately sides with Jacob in e09, Jacob gives the MIB a white rock to signify that he has won the battle for Richard's soul. The MIB is trying to prove to Jacob that humans are inherently evil.

I get the distinct impression that Flocke is keeping count of the number of people he has corrupted to his side of the argument about man's true nature (good or evil) and that it may play a role in Flocke getting off the island.

you're reading to much into that, it was 3 years, move on

it took Jack a few minutes to remember that some people with aphasia can still write. If Sun can't speak the Engrish, she probably assumes she cant write the Engrish either. Plus that bitch be pissed, yo. I wouldnt want her writing shite till she calmed her chi.

These threads have gotten ridiculous but one question because I don't feel like going back and reading.

Has anyone speculated as to why Whidmore brought Zoey in regards to her being a geophysicist??? What is the importance of the pockets of energy?

They are specifically looking for them, so Im guessing the writers are going to tie in the pushing of the button to saving the world.

Both of them have killed people. Jack killed a bunch of DHARMA members and Hurley ran over one of the Others in the van.
