I think there's more to Jacob's master plan than we realize. I get the sense Jacob knew his death was necessary. He pulled an Obi-Wan

We don't know.

He's a cloud of black smoke while Jacob is more solid. Keep in mind that no blood came out of the knife to where he could be fairly hollow under his skin, aside from the smoke.

I agree and now he is some kid running around.

IMO, the little kid is the "higher power".

How is so far? Want to know if I have anything to look forward to when I watch it later.

True, but I'm pretty sure the title of that episode was mostly referring to Penny.
save for the large writing in the notebook that said DESMOND HUEME WILL BE MY CONSTANT

What I'm afraid of is that Hume is the sacrifice.

Everyone's constant is different. Daniel said that. Desmond is special because of his time traveling ability.

Just finished, I thought this episode was surprisingly badass. And the only reason I say surprisingly is because it was Sun/Jin centric.
My favorite episodes of LOST are the ones when all the characters are involved, not just the MiB's people or Jacob's followers. Tonight they did a great job of bouncing around between all the different groups, even doing some good stuff with Widmore's people. They're also definitely picking up the pace, I honestly didn't think we'd see the MiB and Widmore confront each other face to face for a while.
I really like how Jack's character has changed over the last few episodes, now firmly accepting his role in Jacob's plans. This is probably the most likable his character has ever been.
That goes for Sawyer as well, I love his attitude in general toward the MiB. The "why dont you turn your arse into smoke and fly over there" line had me cracking up.
Also, for the first time I'm really getting into the sideways world. It took a while to establish it, but now that we have some continuity going between different episodes it is much more enjoyable. And Mikhail getting shot in the eye was an excellent touch.
And of course.....the return of Desmond. It was kinda expected, but I'm very happy to see it. I can't wait to see what the writers have in store for his character, as it seems that Widmore has big plans for him.

He knows what the constant is so he is gonna get Desmond to go to Daniels other life (when he's not dead) and figure out what they gotta do

I said this tonight...he's remarkably like old Locke now.

I don't know what to think, there is no way Widmore is on Team Jacob, but that's what it seems like right now.
