If MIB feels that threatened by Desmond, I'd say yes.

Let's get a list of the unburied bodies on the Island that we know of:
Christian
Yemi
Alex? - did we see them bury her?
Dharma Initiative
Who else?

more to the point
where does Sayid stand in all this?
he's "claimed" and we all pretty much wrote him off as turning sides
but his apparent lack of willingness to kill Desmond leaves a small crack in the door
plus....what about the previews where it showed Sayid shooting a gun down the well
we didnt even see that tonite

Lots of ways this could go based on what we've seen and where the pieces are on the board.
I do not believe there will be some merging of timelines. Something will happen to make one of the timelines essentially THE TIMELINE.
Also, you can't have it both ways. If MIB gets off the island somehow, maybe in the form of Locke or whatever, then there would be no need for someone like Jack to "take Jacob's place".
If The Losties succeed in keeping the MIB from leaving the island, then he would obviously stay on the island or be destroyed for good somehow.
One question I have tonight is where was Richard in all this?

Nope, but I would like to think the Others came back for her.

Susan Ward
from Wiki:
quote:
Ward was born in Monroe, Louisiana. She attended a private,Christian elementary school (Monroe Christian School), in Monroe,LA. She briefly attended Northeast Louisiana University (now University of Louisiana at Monroe) She began modeling at the age of 13, leaving school and moving to New York to do so, deciding to try her hand at acting several years later. After a few years of small TV jobs on All My Children and NBC's short-lived Malibu Shores, she landed her first main role as the heroine on Aaron Spelling's daytime soap opera Sunset Beach, where she played the virginal Meg Cummings.
In 1999, she began to pursue a movie career, and starred as the psychotic Brittany Foster in the erotic thriller The In Crowd. The movie was a commercial disappointment in theaters, but found some success on cable and home video.
The following year, Ward played a supporting role in the hit movie Shallow Hal. She has also acted in three other straight-to-video and made-for-cable movies, and has guest starred in four TV series, most notably Friends.
She is now playing the role of Chloe Kmetko, mother of a young gymnast, on the ABC Family drama series Make It or Break It.
[edit]Personal life
Ward is married to David C. Robinson, the vice-president of Morgan Creek Productions, the movie studio that produced The In Crowd. They met when he cast her in the movie in 1999 and wed on June 4, 2005. Dr. D.H. Clark, a "friend of the bride," performed the ceremony.[1]. Their relationship has been hard, considering that David is a Centaur, but true love always prevails.
She has one brother, Michael Ward.
Notable Achievements
On January 17th, 2000, Susan rode a giraffe through the streets of New York City while wearing nothing but a toga and lime green ankle socks. Two years prior to that drunken incident, she was on set in Hawaii where she met a jelly fish named Fred. They had a brief affair, and Susan laid eggs that hatched two beautiful and healthy jelly fish. She and David have decided to continue to work out their relationship, and he plays an active role in the baby jellyfish's lives

Dogan spoke of a continuum between da darkness and the good. However, he did not have any faith in people who had tilted to the dark side.
I think we now have been presented with the proposition that people who have gone to the dark side can come back to the light (Star Wars rules). MIB's "claiming" of them is not set in stone.
