But then there is another car in the background that turns and flees the scene.
i thought that was odd too. it was a little white hatchback i think. nadia was hit by a silver jeep cherokee. i wonder if they were just avoiding a hassle or if there was a deeper meaning like maybe it was Ilena and Bram's crew helping Jacob manipulate things.

what if Ilena was driving the Cherokee that hit Nadia and that's why her face was in bandages when Jacob went to see her in the hospital. holy shite.

And when the heck does Sayid's army trainer end up on the island and in the Hatch (pre-Desmond)with Kradensky? Now that we have seen "The Incident" and the building of the hatch, I'm fascinated about how we move from last night to the points in time we know (or think we know).

Candle must make the orientation film at some point.

And did the Temple shield Eloise from getting nuked? Doesn't she have to give birth to Farraday at some point now? She was on an island where a nuke went off.

Loved the scene when Richard knocks out the wall. Wouldn't that be Ben's future route into the Temple to get Smokie?

And where the hell is young Ben post-Smokie?

I'm going to be watching DVR'd and DVD Lost for 9 months....

That has to be the explanation. The powder was there to keep him from getting out and stealing another body. Also the knife in the wall with the statue picture that Elana found in the empty cabin is the knife Jacob was using to clean his fish in the opener.

Its not hell. As both God and the Satan live there. Its more like the original paradise with Adam and Eve...maybe the promised land.

They were speaking a foreign language at the hospital. Although it was Los Angeles where NAdia got hit, I doubt it was there. What language was that when we first saw bandaged Ilena?

My one very small complaint about that episode was Jacob....He was a bit of a puss and was killed way to easily...

After watching it a second time, I don't think Jacob let Nadia die, I think he saved Sayid from getting hit. That's more consistent with everything else.

Jacob acts as a Jesus figure, saving people (literally in the case of Locke and Sayid) or spiritually/emotionally as with most of the others (Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sawyer, etc.)

I think you are right about saving Sayid. But then that whole event sets into motion all of the killing of Widmore's people (albeit by Ben's manipulation).

That is a scene I think we will see more of later.

I love how we thought the battle was between Widmore and Ben. But now it looks like they are all pieces in a game played between Jacob and Black.

does that mean that Blackie got into Christian on 815? So was that him steering Locke to turn the wheel....sending him back to the mainland....to die....so he could get into his body and kill Jacob?

well Christian told Locke to tell his son hi which was a big selling point to get Jack back to the island. Blackie wouldn't want Jack back on the island because they would be the reset, however, he would want them back because they would transport dead locke.

in conclusion holy crap i cant wait for 2010

I just think its awesome how the writers conned us this whole time. We are made to think that Locke is the next great leader of the island, someone who had to deal with terrible life issues only to rise up and be something great. we were so wrong. Locke's emotions, past and weakness is used to manipulate him into unknowingly doing Mr Blacks work to the point of suicide. Thats why smokie didnt kill him when they met.

And then there is the whole scene in the Cabin with Christian, Claire, and who...hell I can't remember who was there!

Could be. I'm not at all convinced that Black is also Smokie. Smokie is Smokie....just a bad arse security system!

Yeah, but now I don't know who Ben and Widmore represent. I was pretty sure they were both bad (and still do), but it seems that Jacob at least believes Ben is worth saving.

So Ben has been following Jacob's orders, I just don't think its the way Jacob wanted hom to do it (i.e. the murders, slavery, kidnapping, torture, theft, etc.)

If I recall correctly, Kate sees Claire off island, presumably dead and presumably Smokie/Mr.Black, and Claire tells her not to bring Aaron back to the island.

I wonder if Aaron will come into play in the final season to throw a wrench in smokie's plan...

I expected to see her in this episode.

I think the writers are holding her for an incredible "oh shite" moment.
