I was going to say this.

So, we still don't know who Penny's mother is right?

Nope. According to the guest registry (I'm fairly certain), her last name is Milton.

Paradise Lost anyone?

Without a doubt.

I'm betting this will create some sort of Constant/Flashes Before Your Eyes like story, but instead of flashing between time, he flashes between realities.

Good call last night. Is Des going to save the world? Sure looks like it. It was wierd seeing him go with Sayid last night though.

Speaking of...anyone else notice his mannerisms both in going with Sayid and when he went back to the limo after meeting Penny? Seemed like he had the same expression and mannerism in both timelines/realities whatever you call it.

Is this significant?

ETA: sorry I am all up in this thread, I'm bored today.

I agree. I think it's enlightenment, I really think he gets it - moreso than Widmore

That's what I was thinking. Something about once he met Penny, his constant, it seemed like all the alt timelines all made sense to Des, and he "got it" or was aware/enlightened of them.
Some shite like that.

I would be all up in it too, but I have to do actual work for a couple of hours.

How does Eloise know so much? (I want to see her origin story as much as I wanted to see Richard's)

I can only assume that after she leaves the Island in the late 70s she dedicates her life to figuring out how she killed a son who had not even been born at the time. This still doesn't explain her apparent omniscience.

What is Farraday's plan?

To bang Charlotte.

What is Desmond going to do with the manifest?

Use it to get in touch with everyone so he can show them something.

What is Sayid going to show Desmond?

Beats me.

quote:

What were Widmore's plans for Desmond and his special ability?

Probably to bring him to the energy pockets to do something that only Desmond can do without dying. Put the cork back in maybe.

I am still 50-50 on whether she is good or evil. The writers are doing a good enough job of that so far as to her intentions. What does everyone else think?

Good plan.

Yeah, I'm calling horseshite on this notion it was one of the best ever. The Richard centric one of just this season blew this one out the water. What did you really learn besides discovering that Electro magnetism has no affect on Desmond or that Penny is his constant.

It was a good episode but I think it's being blown out of proportion. People just like Desmond character in general so I think that's what's stirring the circle jerk about this episode.

To each his own I guess, but I definitely think this was one of the best ... along with the Richard-centric one (but I think this was better)

Well one of the most important things you learn is which reality is the "right one" i.e. the island or the LA one.

I liked it a lot b/c it felt more like things are coming to a close, whereas the Richard-centric one answered questions and opened the storyline wider.

I'm split also as to whether she is working for MIB. She keeps saying shite like, "what has happened, happened" - total MIB jive.

I might have agreed with you an hour ago... then I watched Season 3 Episode 8.... episode on hulu .

This might be one of the best episodes I've seen especially how it ties in to so many things from the past.

Couple of questions
do we know how or why or when Eloise left the island?
How did farraday get his last name?
Why aren't Charles and Eloise together anymore? Was it b/c chuck was banging pennys mom off the island? Was Daniel conceived b4 or after this?

Good call... kinda

I requested a name change a couple of times and it never happened. My 'alter' was about 3.5 years old with 50 posts. So I don't think I am messing with anyone's head. What can I say... I like to lurk! I am a avid reader of the Lost threads. I figured I might as well start posting.

Good question. I don't think so.

Another good one. Although the name itself is an obvious reference.

You're full of great questions.
