although I put this episode on par with the Richard one, but they are totally different...one was intense and offered great insight on a baskground of a character, and the other one last night...offered a great tie-in to episodes like the constant and the looking glass and sets up the final episodes.

Yeah, I'm calling horseshite on this notion it was one of the best ever. The Richard centric one of just this season blew this one out the water. What did you really learn besides discovering that Electro magnetism has no affect on Desmond or that Penny is his constant.
It was a good episode but I think it's being blown out of proportion. People just like Desmond character in general so I think that's what's stirring the circle jerk about this episode.
You learn that the other realities are very much connected and through loved ones memories from the other reality can be remembered. Also a episode should not be judged from the amount of information we learned in that episode, but rather how good the story was within the episode, and it was an A+. If an episode is to be judged by sheerly the amount of information we get, then Damon and Carlton just sitting on a panel answering questions would be the best LOST episode ever. I personally liked this episode more than Ab Aeterno, but thats just me. I just loved how it took the "Flashes Before Your Eyes" formula and did something completely unexpected with it.

do we know how or why or when Eloise left the island?
In the original timeline, she left the Island in 1977-78, probably in order to give birth to Daniel. Daniel has a birth certificate so we may be able to assume that he was born off of the island. Could have something to do with Eloise's pregnancy not being able to come to term with Daniel on the island. I'm not sure how the alt timeline differs.

How did farraday get his last name?
Not sure if anyone knows this.

Why aren't Charles and Eloise together anymore?
I need to look into this more.

Here's my Top 3 for this season:
1) Happily Ever After
2) Dr. Linus
3) Ab Aeterno
They're all pretty close though.

From Lostpedia:
quote:
Daniel was born on the mainland (as there is a birth certificate for him) and was the son of Eloise Hawking and Charles Widmore, although he did not know the identity of his father (that was left blank on the birth certificate).
I don't remember which episode shows this.

Did anyone think it strange that Penny didn't get a little freaked out that a guy just shows up in an empty stadium late at night, where she was all alone and mace his arse??

At first, but they made a point of saying "Love at first sight" to where I let it slide, because if there is a couple of LOST that fits this, it is certainly Desmond and Penny.

yeah, but she did say that she thought she knew him from some where...she also felt the "love".

No, but she did ask if she knew Desmond...I took that as that she felt she knew him from somewhere.

That? Yes. It didn't look at first like she felt anything at first sight. At least to me. Not until talking to him, and him passing out after shaking her hand.

I imagine that's Eloise's last name. She and Charles aren't married in the original timeline. Also, last night Daniel introduced himself as "Daniel Widmore."

Her last name was Hawking

Eloise Hawking
I kind of assumed she just married a Faraday after she left the island and Dan just got his name.
