I'm sure this is more Germans than World War III but idgaf.

Lost's final scene with the wreckage not part of the show. LINK

The Losttards took it to another level thinking it meant something, not that I am surprised.

Carry on.

ell, turns out ABC just threw those final scenes in there as a “visual aid,” and they didn’t actually have anything to do with the show’s plot.

Anyone who thought otherwise is a moron.

I see how you could think this about some of them (i.e., sfp), but how can you say this about Freauxzen?

The real morons were you and your ilk that can't read or comprehend the King's English.

Freaux and I never, not one single time said we thought that the Island was purgatory.

We said that wreckage at the end was tacked on try and confuse people into a Fade To Black Sopranos moment.

Just because the suits did it, does not mean it wasn't meant to confuse people to try and foster continued discussion.

All of my original post on the matter said, I DO NOT THINK THE ISLAND was purgatory. Yet, the knuckleheads evidently couldn't comprehend simple English.

And for like the 100th time, on a show that was never clear and always tried to make people read deeply into things, I have no problem with the people that did think the island was purgatory.

But I was not one of them and neither was Freux. We said we thought the wreckage was a to try and keep people talking about the show.

And I still actually stick to that but instead of the writers, it was the suits that did it.

Really? You always seem so logical about your opinions. What reason do you have that would lead you to believe that any of the writers/suits/whoever would want to give the fans a big FU. I don't get that point of view at all in this instance.

As I said, I think it was a mindfrick to keep people talking about the show.

Hell, people still argue on here about the Sopranos ending. I think they wanted to try and have that same type of ending.

There were more than enough flaws to make people try to read deeper into the finale than was necessary.

I don't want to rehash that all over but there were flaws.

And calling me and Freaux idiots is just weak, because neither of us ever said we thought the island was purgatory. We simply tossed out alternatives which people have only been doing since episode 1.

We never said I THINK YOU ARE WRONG. We simply tossed out alternatives and people are still calling us morons when they are the morons that can't seem to understand English.

Myth's got it. No need for my response.

So some people may be tricked by the last shot of the show unintentionally. How many people were tricked by the ENTIRETY of the show? All the rest of you folks.

Then why did they come out and take up for Damon and Carlton? ABC saw the mess that was created, so they publicly came out and said that it was some execs who did it as an homage. If they really did, like you say, want to create controversy and continued discuession, they wouldn't have spoke out and let things keep spiraling. They did the opposite though and came out and nipped it in the bud. I know you know they didn't die in the crash and you're just playing devil's advocate, but even that seems impossible with the information that has come out in the last few days.

I' not even playing devils advocate. That is someone that just takes the opposite side to piss people off in my opinion.

I just tossed out some alternative theories.

The fact that you said so many people were pissed at the wreckage that the suits came out and said they did it, proves my point that many people thought something was up with the wreckage.

Now in hindsight, you can say, see you were wrong. Well not really, since I never agreed the wreckage was anything more than an attempt to keep people talking.

Why did they come out and admit it? Maybe because Cuse and Lindelof called up pissed as hell and said what the frick did you do to our ending.

I have no idea. Stranger things have happened.

But I am over it and over the Lostiacs.

I said I liked the ending. Hell I loved it compared to the abomination that was BSG's ending.

Looking your way Freaux

Do you still think that after hearing the answer from the executives?

Agreed. I never said either of you were idiots FWIW. I do realize some have said that and they happen to be on the same side as me in regard to this "credits scene." But you'll never see me engage in ad hominem abusive no matter how heated it gets.

Alright, Freauxz, I've got Battlestar Galactica on tap to begin soon. If it is not demonstrably better than LOST, expect me to bring the pain on the M/TV Board.

Decatur out.

I think everyone needs to watch Jekyll. It's only 6 episodes but its a pretty fun series. You can fly through it.

Can't believe he has never watched WW.

I'm pretty damn conservative and I remember hating the thought of the show, but it grabbed me and kept me interested even in the last season.

I just like seeing the inner working of the government and WW was not overly preachy. They pretty much stayed away from hot button issues most of the time.
