Ah.

It's hard to say how long the Other Mother has been on the Island. It is very possible that she was from Egypt.

I don't think she was the first protector though. It's possible that the cycling of protectors has been going on for a while.

I thought I sound like some cranky old English professor.

BTW, nice nickname with Froze, better than Freaux which gets me confused with the other freaux sometimes.

Wasn't she speaking Latin at the beginning though?

Yes. I don't think that it's determinative of where she is from though. She could always pick up different languages from people who came to the Island over the years. I don't think it matters either way where Other Mother (Eve) was from. I think the points they wanted to present was that she had been there for a long time and that she may not have been the first.

Jacob and MIB can speak many languages, so I think she could too.

It has a few interesting points, but it mostly sounds like a die hard fan trying very hard to rationalize an episode that really didn't accomplish much at all. He even contradicts himself a few times.

Well, he's dead in the sense that he doesn't have a body anymore. That is decomposing in the cave. Like I said, there are probably residual characteristics in Smokie, just like there are residual characteristics of Locke "Don't tell me what I can't do."

quote:

couldn't this also be the case for jacob his body is dead but he in a since isn't dead becuase MIB killed him when he pushed him into the fire. Ben only hurt him to a point near death. Jacob's body is dead but his influence on the island is still in effect, or something.

Just a theory

all of these dead people have not been buried, except Locke, and that is when smokie\MIB got trapped in Locke's body.

Qwerstion...

When they had the flashback at the end with Jack and Freckles, there was one scene with them, jack shirtless. then another with Freckles and Jack wearing a shirt seeing Locke.

Did both of those scenes happen in the previous episode?

Damn, Kate looked good in that scene. Was there someone else in the scene?
