I read that to obtain the raspy voice of the old man character Hoffman sat in his dressing room and screamed at the top of his lungs for a whole hour. That's some dedication to a role there

One of my favorite films. Who would have minded being adopted and bathed by Faye Dunaway?

There's nothing in this world more useless than a gunfighter who can't shoot people.

Where did you watch it? It's been 30+ years since I've seen it. Wouldn't mind watching it again.

He also played Bert on the sitcom "Soap". He was hilarious in that role.

It's free on Pluto. You can get the Pluto app for your smart tv or streaming device and then just search for it.

Or just rent it for $4 and not have to suffer thru the diarrhea of commercials with Pluto and/or Tubi.

Isn’t there a character in there (maybe played by Martin Balsam) who in each appearance as the story unfolds is missing another piece of his anatomy?

Mr. Meriweather, the snake oil salesman.

I had a cat that I re-named Mr. Meriweather, because each time he got out of the house he returned with a cut, a missing toe. or part of his ear or tail missing.
