I will be really pissed if this happens. Leno stopped being funny in the mid-90s. Kimmel is the best thing on late night right now.

Does anyone know how serious ABC was about dumping Kimmel and hiring Leno the first time around?

it had to be pretty serious if NBC was willing to give him a show in primetime to keep him from leaving.

There would be a mass number of protests. And everyone who had anything to do with how NBC has been handled in recent months should be fired immediately. It was literally the worst idea in the history of television. NBC was kinda screwed a year ago, but now they are super fricked. Good job NBC, good job.

And has anyone thought that Fox may pick up Conan? That may be a good idea for them.

There was a rumor earlier about Conan going to Fox for a late night show. I just hope that ABC doesn't try to take either Jay or Conan and dump Kimmel.

Kimmel gets good ratings, so I doubt they are going to risk putting Conan in Kimmel's spot. There's no way they'll get Leno though.

Kimmel gets good ratings though. If Jay were to go to ABC, what they would do is have Leno from 10:30-11:30 and still keep Kimmel at roughly the same time from 11:30-12:30. It would be absolutely retarded to get rid of Kimmel for Leno since they both have different target audiences.

well since it looks like Jay is staying at NBC, do you think abc would take Conan?

The problem with Conan and Kimmel is they attract roughly the same target audience, so I'm not sure.

I wonder how Kimmel's rating compare to Fallon and/or Conan. Considering Kimmel starts a half hour later, it should be a little bit lower than Conan right now.

Keep in mind though, college students mostly watch these 2 programs, and I don't know about you, but I rarely go to sleep before 1:00 AM. Top it off with the fact that I usually don't watch much tv at 10:30 and mostly watch tv toward midnight, to where I've caught more of Kimmel's program than Conan.

But I really don't know how the ratings compare.

I liked to see Leno, Fallon, then Conan. Conan was at his best at the late late slot; it really fit his self-loathing appeal. Seriously, does anybody watch Daly?

i do . he isnt really doing a talk show anymore anyway. he does pre taped interviews at random locations then shows a musical act perfoming at a club or something. no studio or anything. its a lot better than it was when he was trying to be funny

ETA: I'm not even a Leno fan.

Leno will still attract the audience that enjoys "safe" humor. And, by the way, as much as some of you don't want to admit it, so many of Leno's 10:30 slot bits are so obviously pale imitations or ripoffs of what Letterman has been doing so much better for years. I admit I still like Letterman. I love the fact that he's a self loathing guy who's smarter than most tv hosts.

That doesn't seem set in stone.

Whoever does that is an idiot, it won't work.

If I were standing next to you right now, I's spill some of my Old Crowe on your keyboard to save you from further posting.

But you're entitled to your opinion. Other people probably said the same shite to me about Conan when his show was new and only us latenight drunk college students were getting it.

That said, it's a crime against humanity that Fallon and Daly are allowed to live while Coinan is fired.
