I've never seen this film. Shame on me, I know!

It's $5 on Vudu. No reason not to own it today

Just watched it. Truly amazing film.

This viewing made me think about the formation of America and how the Seven Years War/French and Indian War was so important to both our revolution and the successive expansion to the West.

I want to read a book about the war now.

I'm a big exposition guy and this movie basically has none and is pure pulp adventure from almost the start. One day I'm going to play this back to back with Barry Lyndon.

I had to have watched this at least 20 times during the 90's.
Sadly I haven't watched it in over a decade.
Time for me to introduce this masterpiece to the family.

The score is one of my all time favorites that I've played on a loop many times.

I actually think Wes Studi steals every scene he’s in. He was perfect as the antagonist.

Fantastic scene...my only gripe is that some of the Indians charging from the woods looked the Guidos from New Jersey who hit the gym 7 days a week.
Magua was skinny but very intimidating.

This movie is on a short list of movies that I consider re-watchable anytime, anywhere. There is not one wasted scene in this entire movie. Every scene is either important to advance the story or is cinematically gorgeous (or both).
It really is the perfect movie.

They are all Native American. Many were local Cherokee but Mann actually hired a large number of random natives from different tribes that looked more warrior like. Maybe that's why they looked Guido.
