Casino?

Has anyone coasted longer than him who hasn't had a great role in a long time?

Maybe Pacino.

I mean, if you've been making crap movies for 20+ years, there is a problem. What am I missing?

Meet the Parents was pretty good. Not a "great" movie, though.

Perhaps Scorcese made him?

Silver Linings Playbook was a great movie. DeNiro was good in it.

Good roles.

Never saw Silver Linings Playbook.

He's had some good roles, which is admirable. I guess that he hasn't had any great or iconic roles.

Analyze This was meh. It was okay.

DeNiro is only still working for the paycheck now. At least Nicholson and Connery had the decency to retire.

Deniro really isn't that great of an actor.

I actually got sucked into The Intern one night when it was on HBO. It was better than I thought it would be.

Silver Linings Playbook
American Hustle
Joy

Just by being in David O. Russell's ensemble team, he's stays in great movies.

That's what I got, too.

I mean, his role in the original Meet the Parents was good, because of the context of his earlier career - didn't know he was going to go all Eddie Murphy/Steve Martin on us the rest of the way.

Sad, really. Guy was arguably the best screen actor since Burton (or Brando) - for about 15 years...

Can be argued both ways - but once you consider what Marty did with Leo - then, maybe it was more Marty than Bobby.

Heat ('95), The Good Shepherd ('06), Silver Linings Playbook ('12), American Hustle ('13)

Depends which movies you consider great.
