CHanged my mind. frick this coach. I understand why Netflix picked this school because this guy makes Buddy look like Tom Landry
I just stated watching. I got in episode 2 about 10 mins and quit. That coach is a total dick and dumbass at the same time. It comes to a point where saying "frick" every other word just makes you look like total trash. It has zero affect on anything after that.
Its so bad, you really cant enjoy the show.

Yes keep watching. It's gets a lot better. Coach is really a good guy. I finished it up. That coach really cares for his kids.

He really does. That's why it's hilarious to see all the people that posted who had only seen the first 4 episodes. I mean, we'd all agree he was trash if that's all you saw, but when you watch the whole thing it is clear that he either saw footage of how he looked or someone talked to him and calmed him down. Somehow, he realized that being like Buddy was going to destroy his team and that he had to get back to being more of a player's coach.
Because in the second half of the season he is a totally different guy. Even Malik improved his attitude immensely from the beginning but he had such a bad attitude to start, that no D-1 coach, even Jimbo or Urban is going to put up with that.

He was a gigantic arse up to the time he got hurt, he did ok dealing with the 3rd string QB. I think he likes the coaching part more than playing.

He still was calling their offensive coach a fat arse and what not in the last episode.
Did anyone watch the follow up episode on life after LCU?
Not looking pretty for Isiah Wright. Watching the victims family interview was hard as hell.

Only through ep 4. It’s sad and hilarious to watch these athletes shite on the NCAA but then not go to class, fail art, do drugs, and just be generally shitty looking men.
And I ain’t trying to defend the NCAA.

I think Malik’s Dad is actually a bigger douche than JB to be honest. He did nothing in the best interest for Malik, only himself. The very epitome of the Dad living through a son stereotype.
I am almost finished with the season and read through the thread. I don't get why people are bashing Henry's father so much. What do you do when you have a kid that is super gifted in an area? He took the kid and cultivated his talent. I am not sure what else he was supposed to do. Henry was the top ranked HS QB in the nation. The kid ended up having a drug problem. That can't totally be the dad's fault. Now he was trying to salvage his future. I don't think the answer was quitting football and playing baseball now. The kid is super gifted at football. He just doesn't like it.
Also, is Henry's dad broke or need money? From the show they say that Henry has an affluent background and his father didn't look broke or that he was living off the kid. I don't know the back story there. Other than they were estranged for a long time, which isn't that usual these days.

Let your kid choose what they want to do.
I don’t dislike Malik like everyone else in this thread. Dude is forced to do something he doesn’t want to do, his attitude about it is blatantly rebellious. And everyone accepts his rebellion. FSU did the right thing in letting him go. No one should’ve forced Malik to go to JUCO, he’s basically crying out that he doesn’t want to play football. I don’t expect someone to be happy or have a great attitude doing something they absolutely loathe. His father is a pos.

First, the kid is an adult. He can literally go do whatever he wants now. Obviously he has emotional problems and a drug problem (not covered on the show). His dad is trying to cope with that, to get him better and to secure his future. I don't know if there is any helping the kid, he is incredibly entitled and just hates being managed. But he is still super gifted. Even Brown says that he is by far the most talented kid he has even been around.

I get what you are saying. But there are tons of guys playing college and pros that don't want to play either. They are just very talented and physically gifted, and it is a means to an end. Nobody likes practice, the yelling, curfews, bed checks, taking classes you don't like and all of the other things it takes to be able to play. That is the cost to get on the field though. That kid has a talent only a handful of people have, plus he has a mind for it. It would be a tremendous waste if he just walked away and later in life, he will regret it a lot..

Just because he is an adult age wise, doesn’t mean he’s an adult mentally. He is obviously carrying the weight and pressure of his father. Calling him entitled and unmanageable based off of doing an activity his father made him do and one that he obviously dislikes is an unfair judgment, imo. Now add to it the inept coaching. I’ve been in his shoes when I was younger so I understand.

It’s his choice. He seems like an intelligent person. I’m sure if his father or mother pushed him into whatever field he actually enjoyed he’d be successful. Your “cost to get on the field” is overstated. Malik obviously doesn’t want to get on the field. If my kid didn’t have passion for something I wanted them to do, I wouldn’t make them do it. It’s asine and makes everyone involved look foolish. Yea he may regret the talent he pissed away but he’ll likely harbor more hate in his heart for his dad, which imo is way more important.

Sounds like Bobby Bruce isn’t off the team after all. His high school coach tweeted a picture of him with their team that thanked him for spending time the day before he goes back to ICC.

That’s all fine and great. Maybe you’re right and he is being rebellious. But that doesn’t excuse him acting like a complete bitch.

Off topic but the center Bates played high school football at Scotlandville

I’m not excusing anything, it doesn’t bother me like it bothers the rest of you.
