KIDS.....Since We're Discussing Harmony Korine Movies (Gummo)

Not a huge fan of Harmony Korine, but Kids was a great movie! Very effective. It was hard to watch, but Korine most definitely wrote that screenplay at the right time (1995) when HIV/AIDS was still a somewhat scary thought.
In the early 1990s I lost my virginity when I was 16 years old. Great night! However, one of the first things I thought the next day was, "shite...I hope I don't have AIDS."
Later, when I was in college, I saw Kids and it scared the shite out of me because by that point I had been with 3 other girls and had "gone downtown" on a few more. I always used condoms, but still I thought crazy shite like, "I probably need to get tested sometime soon. What if a condom had a hole in it? What if...what if...what if..."
Needless to say I got tested. Scariest two weeks of my life! That was life in the 1990s, kiddos.

wife found that movie (a couple of years ago, I think) in the huge display they make you weave through at Best Buy before checking out. She was so excited to have found that movie for sale, then we watched it and I was all... 
It's an interesting movie for sure.

Regardless, the movie made me paranoid. What if I had a cut on my lip one time when I went downtown? The "what if" thoughts scared me the most.
Don't y'all tell me that you didn't worry about nearly every sexual encounter the first time you got tested for HIV/AIDS...
