This is the next closed series I want to watch but it's hard to find time with so many good active series.

Yep, shite didn't take long to get real on that show.

Might start watching it again on Amazon Prime.

I've seen every episode of The Shield and I kinda disagree. The pilot might have been the best episode of the series. The ending was classic.

about to start right now. I was going through a streaming site looking for a show, I forgot I had Prime.

Need to use it more.

The first 2 entire seasons are on Crackle right now too. I just watched the 1st 4 episodes a few weeks ago for the first time. Agree with all of you on the pilot, it was strong. Also cool seeing all the SOA actors on the show, but I already knew about that parallel going into it.

I envy anyone watching The Shield for the first time.

Boy, howdy!

I currently have The Shield, Breaking Bad, The Wire and Hill Street Blues as the four best hour-long dramas that television has produced, to date.

The Shield is the one I'm most excited to watch all the way through again - I have seen season 1 - 4 about 3 times, Season 5 twice and 6 & 7 only once. After I finish the last few episodes of The Wire, I'm going back to watch The Shield again.

I didn't love the Shield like a lot of people on this board do but I gotta admit it has one of the best pilots of all-time.

Damn good plot, series opener, middle and close to end but I did not like the series finale.

To each his own, but that was one of the best and most truthful finales ever. By truthful I mean realistic and believable and not gimmicky like the Sopranos for example.

Brilliant - best Pilot/Finale combo ever. Both directed by Clark Johnson, who also directed the pilot and series finale of The Wire.

These four episodes alone put Johnson in the running for best television direction of all time.
