Can't say I'm in love with that idea. I thought the story would be completely original, and there are too many remakes, sequels and prequels these days.
It isn't supposed to really be a prequel in the normal sense. As far as I can tell, the only things that tie the movies together are the location, LV 426, and the alien ship. The other stuff is just names I think, like Weyland Enterprises.

Everything else is pretty much original:

- This event occurs 30 years before the movie Alien.
- Xenomorphs apparently aren't involved.
- We get a whole new species of alien.

It really kind of is a standalone story.

Don't worry, I was down on it for being a prequel too, but the cast is amazing, I love the director, and the trailer looks badass. I'm getting excited for it.

Dude. Ridley Scott + Sci Fi + Charlize Theron = I'm seeing the movie even if there are fricking Smurfs in it. Know it.

Spoiler alert, really. The movie is over 30 years old.
Spoiler alert, Bruce Willis is already dead in the sixth sense, and in the movie titanic the boat sinks
