It was a botched abortion that shouldn't have been allowed to live.

Did you cry when Rose said “love wins” ?

In my experience, those who hated TLJ (and Captain Marvel) are doing so just to follow the trend. They really can’t find anything majorly wrong with it, but will bash it regardless.
This is extremely evident by asking them to narrow down the reason these movies were so bad, but the only response given is “the whole thing was terrible.”
I never see any logical reasoning from any of these blow hards.

What did you like about TLJ? Be specific.

Here. Watch that. It covers most of the dumb, poorly written plot points without all of the “They done ruined Star Wars!!!” griping you year from most older fans.

As in what would have to happen in Endgame for it to cause the same reaction as TLJ?
Captain America will have to say America is evil, it deserved to have half its population wiped out for killing the Native Americans, humans should die due to global warming, and then Captain America shoots himself on the shitter refusing to save humanity. That is how bad it would have to be.

I can condense many of the complaints.
At about 6:40 in the video:

I actually enjoyed the experience when I watched in theater. Everything is better on the big screen. That being said, I have zero desire to watch it again. It was Phantom Menace bad. Just amazingly dull. The dialogue was terrible, the humor was bad, and the overall tone of the movie was just a huge miss. The Force Awakens was pretty damn good, TLJ wasn't.
There's a certain level of quality you expect from a Star Wars film and TLJ was not up to standard. And this is coming from a very casual fan of the SW universe.

Same. I saw it on imax 3D and it was cool to see the effects. But after the movie was over I walked out of the theatre thinking wtf just happened.

Basically the Force Awakens was ok but overrated as hell and TLJ was bad but looks horrible storyline wise in comparison.
Ive never seen so much praise placed on a movie (TFA) that was just a rehash/remake of the old Star Wars, complete with a new empire with the same stormtroopers, desert planet etc.

it was really bad
ignore all the inclusivity/diversity stuff
the tone was all over the place...and forced. from forced, unfunny low comedy (Which the movie opened with
) to a forced romance to an almost sarcastic rejection of what was set up in the OT (Luke, the force etc) and TFA (Snoke, Rey's parents)
in terms of story, the primary story was weak (the fuel stuff, the bad leadership) and the side stories ranged from terrible (casino subplot) to infuriating (the Rey-Luke force storyline). worst of all, RJ's deconstruction of Star Wars truncated the triology. the big bad is dead. we'll get to Rey in a second. the "rebellion" is utterly destroyed. Luke is dead (ish?). Rey is nothing special (ish?). you're supposed to make the 2nd act of a triology end in a sad way to build the drama for the final act, but RJ ended the trilogy 2 movies in on a down note and now the 3rd act is a new story entirely. it's just bad
Rey is the most powerful being in the history of the movie universe. the previous most powerful being, Anakin/Vader, still required a long period of training to hone the force. Rey literally was a force master before she even realized what the force is, and she required no training by Luke and was l337 already. She has no development and, per the movie, no real place in the story. she's just a random, homeless orphan who is immediately the most powerful force being in history without any training of explanation. she has faced little drama and when faced with drama, uses the force to win without any real danger. no development, just perfection
so, to summarize. ignoring all the SJW stuff. the story is bad and fricks up the triology completely. the tone and writing are inconsistent with side stories that are irrelevant and boring. and the main character was already perfectly formed before the trilogy began and was not developed at all during the act when she's supposed to realize that she's the hero and turn into that hero.
so yeah, bad

TLJ we just awful. Maybe one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen.
The worst MCU movie isn’t even in the same universe as TLJ.
Honestly I don’t think Endgame could be as bad even if the makers tried to make the worst movie ever.

The new star wars trilogy isn't written for you. It was made for a younger, money spending audience. That audience doesn't have the same emotional connection to star wars that the emotionally stunted baws here have.
TLJ was good, if you can get past your childhood star wars sex fantasies.
Your response has absolutely nothing to do with my questions to the other poster's comments.

Not all that bad. Certainly not terrible. Ignore what 90% of this board has to say about it.
