7 episode limited series. Best thing I've seen on TV all year.

I liked it so much I bought the book. I didn't realize that the guy who wrote the book, Walter Tevis, also wrote The Hustler, The Color of Money, and The Man Who Fell To the Earth

Great TV, Netflix. Bravo

This is on my list after we finish Watchmen.

Have you seen Normal People on Hulu yet?

I'd put that up against almost anything I've seen this year.

We have been talking about it for the last month, great show and almost universal M/TV love.

We really enjoyed this a lot.

So much so I think we will watch his other series, Godless, soon.

Godless is a great series. Netflix really screwed that one up for publicity. It should have been as big as Queen’s Gambit in terms of public awareness

She’s on her way to a list status soon
Taylor Joy should win awards for that series

Obviously the show was fictional but you had some hope that it had a tinge of Rudy, real person exaggerated.

Then you learn there's a reason they have the category of WGM (Woman Grandmaster) because just like tennis and basketball they can't come close to the men.

The show is great (mostly for its style) but its just really a coming of age novel of a fictional character that would never happen. As some chess afficiandos have called it the Forrest Gump of chess movies/novels.

I’ve never played chess. Why can’t women come close to men in chess?
