I don't know. They just can't. That's maybe a Joe Rogan discussion on how men and women are different and how their brains think.

It's not like they're prohibited from competing against men, they just have their separate category because otherwise it's futile apparently.

I enjoyed the show and thought it was brilliantly well done but there are chess nerds out there saying give me a break.

I’ve never played chess. Why can’t women come close to men in chess?

quote:

Second, there’s the theory that men are on average better at some things, notably “spatial” stuff involving the ability to mentally process shapes, patterns and images, while women are better at social, emotional and perhaps verbal tasks. Again, this averages out overall. According to proponents, these differences explain why men continue to dominate the upper echelons of things like mathematics, physics, and chess. These all tap spatial processing and since men are more variable, there’ll be more extremely high achievers – Nobel Prizes, grandmasters. (There are also presumably more men who are rubbish at these things, but we don’t notice them.)
So essentially a bell curve playing out in men’s favor on the high end with regard to spatial intelligence.

Why would men be more variable only in spatial intelligence?

It’s apparent in sports at a very young age. Boys are better at reading angles, timing, etc.

Ahh. Knew there was a reason why my wife can’t properly load a dishwasher.

Nobody said that was the case.

Men tend to be better at strategic and spatial intellect.

Women are orders of magnitude better at relational and organizational thinking.

No, that wouldn't explain it. If men are more variable (and I believe they are), this wouldn't be limited to one aspect of intelligence.

But it doesn't appear this was what dude was actually saying, he just wasn't that precise with his phrasing.

Okay, that was how I read your post. If you were instead saying that men are more variable across all aspects of intelligence, and better in spatial reasoning across the board, then I agree.
