Hell yes.
Andy ruins the show. They could have done the entire series without him and it would have been better.

Didn’t Jim go way out of his way to not sleep with Cathy? It seemed to me that Jim and Pam’s marriage issues had way more to do with Pam than Jim.
The theory that the OP was referring to implies that Jim is by far the most aware of the cameras at all times (think about how many of those looks directly down the lens he gives). As such, he knew they were watching when Cathy tried to seduce him in Florida so he did his best to make a show of him rejecting her. However, when the cameras were off, they hooked up.
Not really any substance in the show to that; but it's a funny theory.

Disagree if only because season three Andy was great. The moment he punched a whole in the wall is still one of my favorite moments.
"That was an o-ver-re-action."

Scenes like that are good examples of why he ruins the show. He was a bad caricture (and a ham), when the show already had 2 carictures (Michael and Dwight) and just needed everyone else to play it straight or straight with idiosynchrosies.

3.) Gonna be an unpopular opinion on here, but I thought the temp, Cathy, was hotter than Pam. I actually read a fan theory that speculated that Jim actually did cheat on Pam, and with the way the finale ended really seemed to support that idea. They imply that a lot of stuff happened off camera which would better explain why Pam couldn't trust Jim.
No problem from me here. Cathy was hotter. The scene with her and Jim in Florida... would've been tough not to knock those boots.
Pam really started getting on my nerves in the later seasons. I just find her pretty unfunny for the most part.

Andy's character arc was weird.
Hate to use the word, but Andy was the biggest cuck I've ever seen on anything. Grow a set, man. He was funny for the most part, but annoying as hell.

I didn't get that impression. Are you talking about the conference call scenes with the other founders?

Andy became a caricature IMO. I really do not like his character.
100% agree. Early Andy had spunk, motivation, arrogance, had anger issues, etc... He just became too whiny and dull.

They were times where they really bonded with their co workers, but their snobbery lasted almost the entire series.
Nobody in the office got along really. Think about it. The only nice people in the office were Kevin and Phyllis. Everyone else was pretty much assholes in their own way.

There isn't that much different from those 2 seasons aside from Michael's slicked back hair, which I thought kind of worked.
Steve Carell became a mega star between the two seasons so people watched season 2. Plus I think season 1 was a mid season replacement of a cancelled show

Yes, I agree with the OP that the last two seasons were all over the map and not up to par.
I scanned all the other posts but did anyone mention Will Ferrell? I think bringing him in for the few episodes he was Michael's replacement was ridiculous. He was too big, too famous, and his character was ridiculous. Although I did like all the quick cameos of stars brought in to interview for the position (Jim Carrey, Ray Romano, Will Arnett, James Spader). And IMO Spader's California character was awesome.
As someone else said, the last few episodes of (the premiere of the documentary, Dwight's bachelor party (bestest mensch!), and the wedding wrapped things up nicely.

Phyllis was a bitch.
Karen: who's Bob Vance?
Phyllis: you've got a lot to learn about this town honey **glares and walks off**

I submit that the show started to "tank" after they got married. The show lost some tension after that and really tried to search for storylines. It obviously had plenty of good moments after that, but I think you could say that was when the show peaked. It went from being about the mundane life of an office to a lot of sitcom-esque situations.
That's fair. I think the show had two points where if there had never been another episode I would have been totally fine with it. 1) Michael's last episode. 2) When Jim comes back from New York and asks Pam if she's free for dinner.
The only problem with ending it there is that it was only Season 3 and there were a couple of great seasons still to come. But if you could take all the episodes of the show through say season 5 and rearrange them (where the story still makes sense minus the Jim and Pam relationship), that would have been a perfect way to end the series.

Yeah, I'm not sure what that point was getting at either. Those scenes were generally set up to show how out of the loop Jim was, not that he was incompetent.

One of my favorite parts of that season is when they first introduce Andy. Jim pulls the ole "office supplies in jello" prank and Andy absolutely explodes.

Pool Party is my favorite Robert California episode.
"I pictured myself here every night eating a leg of mutton, the juices dripping down my bare chest, wiping my fingers on the walls. Then I met the vegan."

I know it's just a TV show so I'm not pointing this out as some kind of damning criticism of the show or anything, but one thing that I always found so unrealistic (in an otherwise fairly realistic show about an office) was how much everyone hung out outside of the office. A lot of these people are just passingly cordial to each other in the workplace yet they all get together and hang out in their spare time. Parties at one of them's house, multiple weddings, after-hours events AT the workplace, hanging at bars together, etc. Man when I'm not at work the last thing I want to be doing is hanging out with every single coworker I have. Do these people not have any regular friends outside of work?

I watched it again last night. That episode is gold.
