The latest film directed by Clint Eastwood, starring Nicholas Hoult, Toni Collette, Kiefer Sutherland, and J.K. Simmons. Releases November 1, 2024.

quote:

Family man Justin Kemp who, while serving as a juror in a high profile murder trial, finds himself struggling with a serious moral dilemma...one he could use to sway the jury verdict and potentially convict-or free-the wrong killer.

Yeah, I’m an About a Boy fan, so I thought about it right away when I read the cast list.

Btw, OP looks interesting.

we just watched Dan in Real Life last night. Hedges is an underrated director.

Also... this is strikingly similar to Reasonable Doubt.

eta: Hedges wrote About a Boy. Not directed. my bad.

I'm down. Love some Clint Eastwood movies. Dude has been just as good of a director as he was an actor.

Only 17 reviews so far, but they are nearly all positive reviews of the movie. Just raises more questions on why this is being swept under the rug.

I am lucky enough to live near one of the 50 and plan to check it out Sunday.

quote:

Why Warner Brothers is limiting the release of Eastwood's 34th film to 50 theaters is a mystery, but if you take the time to seek it out, you will be rewarded with a morally twisty courtroom thriller led by a great cast.

quote:

Juror #2 is Clint Eastwood's best film in years, by far.

quote:

A deeply involving and thought-provoking new spin on the genre, which serves up a ripe moral quandary that goes deeper than anything John Grisham ever managed.
quote:

Eastwood, working with a fine original screenplay by Jonathan Abrams, has made one of the most compelling human dramas of his career, one that inevitably will resonate with smart adult audiences.

That’s why only 50 theaters. Smart and adult is a very small percentage of theater goers.

Pretty sad how limited this release is. Shame what they do to a legend.

Well unlike those last movies, Clint Eastwood himself has confirmed that he's retiring from Hollywood after this film runs its course. I'd say the man has earned it as he's 94 years old and has been in the industry since the mid-1950s.

Wife and I enjoyed it. Definitely some points during the trial that seems like it would never happen in real life, but not a bad movie at all.

I liked it. Great filmmaking. The court scenes were a little over dramatized but that’s every court movie.

I would have let the guy take the fall if I was the main character. Better you than me, as they say
