The first one did such an amazing job with blending together CGI and real effects. The raptors were guys in suits, and they used CGI to remove the puppeteer and touch it all up.
Also, the T-Rex shots largely used an autoerotica dinosaur.

When I first read the Lost World I was so freaking confused how they could do this.
I don't blame that on Crichton. My suspicion is that Hollywood forced his hand with this. Rumor has it that he didn't even want to write that book.

Agreed, I'm excited.
The genetically modified dinosaur angle is lame, but I guess in a Jurassic World where everything is under control they needed some sort of plot device to cause chaos.
