Dinos can be scary. Confirmed.

I don’t know what to expect here, how mutated are they going?

I will say, there were a couple scenes where they made Indominus and the Indoraptor pretty scary, it was just the situations and plot that blew.

It’s all about the writing and situations they put the humans in, that’s all that matters. The CGI has gotten out of control, they have to go back to animatronics and very personal scenarios.

The raptor kitchen scene with the kids is the pinnacle, I don’t think they replicate that ever again

I’m not optimistic

See, I don’t like this at all. Maybe I’m alone, but can’t we make a T-Rex or velociraptor scary enough without adding “mutations” to them? Seems like to original did just fine in that arena. It just feels a little campy. I mean, I want a DINOSAUR movie, not a mutant monster movie.

Funny you say that. That's how I know they all suck because I recently watched them all with my son and daughter. Even they agreed the first was the best, and it's the only one they have requested to rewatch.

And to stay on track Koepp came up with commandments, like the nine commandments Chuck Jones did while making Road Runner cartoons. “Number one, the events of the previous six movies cannot be denied or contradicted, because I hate a retcon. Number two, all science must be real. Three, humor is oxygen… down the line to what heroes and villains are driven by,” Koepp said. “I thought, Okay, if we can stick to those. That’s the spirit of the first movie, which is the tone that we would like to get closest to. It was great fun.” When Koepp visited the “Jurassic World Rebirth” set in London, he was transported to Stage 27 at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, 30 years ago, to when they were making “Jurassic Park.” “It even smelled the same,” Koepp reminisced.

Universal describes the movie per the official logline: “Five years after the events of ‘Jurassic World Dominion,’ the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.”

I was in the theater for one of the Jurassic movies many years ago and there were 2 boys in the row in front of me and they were pumped.

which is fine, and i'm glad kids have fun with them. but the beauty of the original JP was that 11 year olds AND 60 year olds loved it.

What does "lean more into fear" mean? The dinosaurs will chew longer? They are never going to top the T-Rex eating the lawyer sitting on the toilet in E. 1.

Wish they would reboot the series in the style they did with the movie prey ( predator movie) .....people think the dinosaurs have all died off....then a group of ppl get lost in the woods somewhere and try to survive a pack of raptors or something of that nature...make it more grounded

The 2nd half of Fallen Kingdom is a pretty solid horror flick.

Still can't watch the end of the volcano eruption with the veggiesaurs calling out as the smoke/lava closes in on them. That scene is brutal.

Why do people keep fricking with dinosaurs?

"nobody is dumb enough to go where we're going".

Well that’s the secret sauce that every Jurassic park and world film has missed since the original, fear. Jurassic Park was a horror film, same as Jaws. The characters were incredible, the setting unique, but at its core, fear was the driving force. An adventure into conquering and facing fear.

Moreover the dinosaurs felt like actual animals and not mascots or movie monsters like what the World movies did to them. The raptors became nothing more than loyal dogs and the Rex was just the deus ex machina against the big evil dinosaur.

At least here all we have is the big evil dinosaur which definitely isn’t perfect it better it seems than the last two

No different than Ellie. There was no muscle in Jurassic Park. Well, there was the Hunter and he got ripped apart by the raptors without even firing a shot. As it should be. That being said, I didn’t watch the trailer.
