I saw Get Out and Us this weekend. I always assumed they would be overrated for political reasons but they are both actually really good. I would definitely recommend for anybody who hasn't seen them.

Why all the downvotes? Is this board not a fan of those movies. Genuinely confused.

Idk about the rest of the board, but for me, the amount of praise those movies (more for Get Out) got they just don't live up to it. Get Out was OK, but people were falling all over themselves to let everyone know how great it was. Us was just garbage to me.

Get Out is a very good movie.

I didn’t really care much for Us.

I wasn't around for the overhype but for me, going in blindly, I thought they were excellent. They seemed more creative than most horror films(that usually recycle ideas). I was guessing what was gonna happen the whole time. And the soundtracks were excellent.

I haven't seen Us but I thought Get Out was a good horror film with an interesting take on racism. I don't say that often about Hollywood movies.

Theater was packed and people were laughing like it was a comedy at how silly it was. It was a joke

I am probably the biggest Key and Peele fan around, but Jordan Peele has definitely rubbed me the wrong way the past couple of years.

It still doesn't take away from my enjoyment of their comedy. I can't really get into Peele's movies though. Get Out was okay for me.

My wife and I knew nothing about Jordan Peele or Us when we saw it and loved it. I guess it was just us.

Same for me. I've never watched Get Out, and had no preconceived notions of hype for the movie, and thought it was a solid flick. Not amazing or anything, but very enjoyable.

I liked them both. It seems impossible to make a movie these days that people here like, unless you through in a few super heroes of course

Keegan Michael Key is infinitely more likeable but, for some reason, has not found the same success, even though he's by far the greater comedic talent.

Maybe he needs to be more of a dyed-in- the-wool racist like Peele and he'll get some more attention.

I enjoyed both movies but I do think they were way overhyped.

I enjoyed ‘Get Out’.

‘Us’ wasn’t bad, I just thought it wasn’t very good.

My wife and I were talking about it and we may be the only two that liked Us better. We thought it was more unpredictable.
