Looper did some amazing stuff but it has some issues.

Like boring and predictable. Well, after the first guy hit the ground and I had to clean the crap out of my pants.

I've already forgotten the "rules" of Inception. Classic...it is not. The Matrix Revolutions is easier to understand that Inception's premise.

Looper wasn't that good, imo. It was decent, but the weird faces he made really threw me off, and I didn't like the acting much.

I would say from the transition from the first act to the second is unique and awesome and this is the point where I found it to be unpredictable. I thought this was just going to be a constant chase movie.

My problems with it are the numerous paradoxes and Bruce Willis (most notably his double machine gun action sequence)

Blade runner is timeless

Inception was a good movie but I never really desired to watch it again.

Looper was an entertaining movie but pretty predictable.

It's a sci fi movie with noire flair, narration is fine. Ford just sounds awful, mostly because he had to be dragged kicking and screaming into the studio to record it.

I don't see what makes Looper a future classic. It was an entertaining movie but nothing groundbreaking.

I liked Looper well enough but it is not going to be considered a classic. Dystopian future, bad guys running around in black trench coats, time travel - they have all been fleshed out better in previous movies. Hell, Dark City will stand the test of time better.

Blade Runner > Dark City > Inception > Looper IMO.

Gonna jump in here and say a few things.

Disclaimer: I have not seen Looper yet so I will not be commenting on it. Feel free to respond about it in regards to this post spoilers don't bother me.

The voice over in Blade Runner was a decision made by producers and Scott. Scott does not believe in voice overs and feels that sometimes there is a place for it but why should someone tell you a story that you're already seeing? I'm sure most, if not all have seen The Final Cut. If you own it then I'm sure you've watched the 5hr long doc. on the making of the film, Dangerous Days. If you've seen it then you know that Blade Runner was put through hell and was lucky to even be put in theaters.

As for Inception I only have one question, how do people not understand this film?

Inception doesn't belong next to Blade Runner or Looper. It's lofty popcorn movie.

I disagree with the bolded portion of that statement.

Looper was good. but, 10 years from now, I think it will stand on the same level that "12 Monkeys" does today.

Blade runner is flawless aside from the crummy voice over narration.

I disagree with this and I point to exhibit A:

They had multiple cuts of the film. If it was flawless, there would be only one cut.

That said, I love Blade Runner. It is a unique, deeply imaginative film that makes you question not only what you are seeing, but humanity itself.

For this reason, I feel this:

quote:

Looper addressed deeper issues. I felt like Blade Runner was just a giant commercial for action figures

to be incorrect. Blade Runner is far deeper in my mind than Looper. Looper was not nearly as contemplative on the human condition and what defines humanity. It got caught up in its own swagger rather than seriously looking at the development of the child into the Rainmaker, which to me was far more interesting, literally speaking, than JGL's character.

All of that said and I still loved Looper. Fantastic ideas and a superbly stylistic execution, while JGL turned in a pretty rock solid performance.

I thought Inception was meh. Good but not what everyone was making it out to be. Everyone was acting like it was the best movie since Godfather.
