I just finished it, and I have to say I was very impressed. Might be one of the best shows of the year. Period. In fact, if they removed powers from everyone, and just made it a woman vs. a sadistic serial killer/rapist, it still would have been badass. I likes Night Nurse appearing, but i was slightly disappointed DD didn't show up. Claire's appearance does raise the question of why Jess, Hellcat, or Cage didn't bring up the entire Devil of Hell's Kitchen thing that happened. That had to have been a big deal for those in the neighborhood, and it had JUST taken place.
Yeah that was slightly annoying, even a mention of Fisk going down would be cool.
Pretty sure this took place after AoU, so no mention of that was weird as well.

Episode 4. There is mention of a big green guy.

Yep. And that's all the characters mention in terms of the Avengers.

Nah. I watched about half of Daredevil and put it down.
About the only thing you need to know is that it takes place in a world where there are superheroes and where huge sections of New York got destroyed when the Avengers fought off a race of invading aliens. (A character makes a reference to her mother being killed during that battle)

the second half of DD was the best part...and season 2 is going to be even better with the Punisher in there.

So is Kilgrave the only villain during the whole series? I could use an appearance from someone else....I guess that's a minor complaint though.

No there was Nuke, I think is the name. Kilgrave was great enough to carry the series by himself as the sole villain though.
It had some strong components, but as a series it was not remotely as good as daredevil. The poor side characters really took away from it. The fact that the best side character performance was a character borrowed from daredevil made it more noticeable.

Right

Wrong
JJ was darker, it didn't start nearly as slowly as DD, had a bad arse hot chick, Luke Cage, Nuke? Who I thought was the punisher but never mind that I don't know the comics but his character was fairly good.
After watching both, I would say JJ kicks DD's arse.

I liked it a lot more than Daredevil. I thought Krystin Ritter was way better than the dude that played Murdock. And I never sucked D'onofrio's dick like everyone else did. Kilgrave was a 10x better and more believable villain than Kingpin. D'onofrio was so over the top and ridiculous.

In my head. Perfect summation. Krystin Ritter looks too much like GF to talk about it..

This was mentioned. They mentioned the Green guy and his friends and referred it is at "the incident." Remember the woman who lured Jessica to her apartment to kill her? She specifically said she wanted to take out Jessica because she was one of "them" and during "the incident" her mom was killed by falling debris when all the buildings were destroyed. I remember being happy that someone acknowledged all the deaths that would have occurred during those final scenes of AoU with so much destruction because it was completely left out of the movie.
I finished it today and really liked it. I never get into these comic things and have no idea what to expect because I've never read any of them but I liked it. The pacing of this show was superb. Sometimes the acting was a bit stiff and forced but hopefully that is improved upon next season.

I'm pretty sure that was about Avengers 1

Oh. Maybe so. I didn't think there would be a way to know since both films had the same people and a crap load of destruction going on. AoU had the floating city going on, right? Was that NYC or somewhere else?

Man, you people are fast with watching.
Just finished. Great stuff, I would say about on par with Daredevil. Just two completely types of heroes and villains, which kept it interesting.
I actually liked the side characters, JJ is supposed to be a little more out there, Malcolm, the twins, etc. And Colter as Cage is spot on. Maybe the best casting on both of the Marvel-Netflix shows.
I really hope they keep this pace up as the Marvel-Netflix relationship is out standing. I mean, these two are easily some of the top comic-to-tv shows that have been produced.

I highly enjoyed Trish Walker as well...Hellcat is a pretty decent street level hero....who knows what she gets into (or volunteers for)?

Agreed. Nice work all around by the team. Both this and Daredevil were just good shows. I actually think the large backstory was a detriment to Daredevil, which seemed a little rough. I think they'll focus in on the next season.
Can't wait for Cage's solo show, and I'm a huge Rand fan, which could be the Dr. Strange of this group. Just a little outside of what we'll see through DD Season 2 and Cage.
Would be cool if IGH bleeds into some SHIELD stuff too.

I'd like to see at least one SHIELD crossover episode.
It's past time for Marvel TV to really be connected

Why can't Strange be the Dr. Strange of this group? He only has one film (next November) that takes place right before the Iron Fist series.

The Purple Man was the best part of this series.
The rest was meh. Seems like they could have wrapped everything up in 8 episodes rather than stretching out to the full 13.
I like the Nuke character but I wanted to punch the face of the actor playing him. He seemed to have permanent duck face.
