To me, Winter's Bone (2010) is still the best movie she's stared in.

I'm not a fan of the Hunger Games movies at all. Didn't like the first one or the bits and pieces I've seen of the ones that followed.

Silver Linings Playbook was OK, but American Hustle was disappointing.

Not the first, but as long as we’re compiling a list of female action heroes that predate Lawerence there’s also Tomb Raider and Xena

ETA: the article mentioned Tomb Raider and Kill Bill which is another good one.

Among the others mentioned, Milla Jovovich and Kate Beckinsale say hello.

Both had largely successful franchises where they were the primary protagonists.

What a stupid count.

I think her family benefited greatly when she cut off contact with them.

Jennifer Lawrence is an example of every Liberal White Bitch who thinks she's 'much smarter than she actually is.

How that walking bag of moles ever became a star is beyond me. I'm guessing ol' Harvey could do anything short of living sacrifice.

Um, how about Pearl White, in "The Perils of Pauline" (1913)? Or, even better, Helen Holmes, who was in those railroad-themed installments of "the Hazards of Helen" (c. 1915). She did real stunts, jumping from moving autos onto moving trains, and motorcycle chases, etc. You had Texas Guinan in westerns then, too. Lead heroines who were at the forefront of the action and adventure, often saving their male beaus! All back in the early movie days of the 1910s.

Winter's Bone is her best acting job because boy did she fool a lot of people.
Makes you wonder if she just grew up a hick, among meth head hicks, so it wasn't really acting.
