She even went on Letterman and they talked about her age but danced around how she's nude in half the film. Just bizarre.
But that was Blue Lagoon time and well we all know Hollywood. They didn't care apparently after they got away with Brooke Shields career.
It's weird that the MPAA allowed this, let alone the public.

It was a movie released in theaters across the country, and I honestly had no clue she was 17 in the movie. When I was 13 first seeing it, it never occurred that she was that young, I was just excited to see boobs and butt.

The director claimed it was almost all Phoebe Cates.
