This can't be right. Maybe for the whole deal. Not per year.

Not exactly independently. Her father owns a multi-billion dollar energy company. It isn't exactly her money unless he decides that it is. But, yeah, none of them are hurting.

ETA: Make that past tense. Owned. He apparently passed away 3 years ago. Still it wasn't her money back then, and who knows how his estate was divided.

Yeah, so what? It’s not their show. Someone who works for me gets a salary . . . not a piece of my business (unless I choose to let them in on it).

So the show about nothing is worth something!

Yeah. There's no way the syndication is making 400 million a year.

And JLD still has more money than Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld combined

In my head I imagine George, Elaine and Kramer all sitting at a table dejected because they lost, while Jerry gives them that condescending smile. The show lives on.

Don’t the friends cast get $20 mill a year or something like that? They don’t own rights to the show if I’m not mistaken.

Dude has gone Leno.

Nah. Seinfeld gets out constantly and does stand up all over the place in smallish cities and venues like a grinder even though he has money to burn.

Hell, I saw him in Shreveport a few years back at the Municipal.

ETA: You can catch him in Deluth, MN Thursday and Des Moines, IA Friday, for example.

I saw Seinfeld last year in Laffayette. Dude came to Lafayette to do standup and he's worth 800 million. He's really down to earth.

This is how he’s always struck me. Or, maybe not so much down to earth as he is self aware. I remember one of the cars and coffee episodes where he was talking about how famous people love to act like they are some kind of victim of their success, and pretend they miss things about their life before they were rich. His response was basically “I’ve been both, and being famous is way better.” For some reason I really respected that.

I don't think Jason Alexander is eating store brand peanut butter for lunch today.

Not only that, but he gets on comedians who have retired from stand-up to get back on stage. He got Steve Martin to do his first solo set in decades (he currently does a stage show with Marty Short). You can see him on the current CICGC bitching at Eddie Murphy to get off his arse and back on the road.

IIRC, didn’t Jerry press for them to get a pretty good salary?

Not exactly

And Jerry and David do make 400 million PER YEAR on the syndication deal

quote:

” But the publication added that “Those cuts don’t come close to the estimated $400 million per year that Seinfeld and David will earn from the latest syndication deal.”
