Honestly thought we'd already have a "Rumor is he tried to watch The Acolyte this morning" type joke already. Props to the M/TV board for the James Earl Jones respect.

93 is a great run. He was 10 years old when the Japs bombed Pearl Harbor.

Very sad news.

A quick story….My freshman year roommate’s mom was heavily involved in the civil right’s movement, so she knew lots of people. Her son had JEJ as his godfather. On his birthday that year, I answered the phone and talked for a sec to Darth F’ing Vader. Really cool moment for 18 year old me.

It was a small role for him in the scope of his career but I loved noticing him as one of the bomber pilots in Dr Strangelove.

One of his funniest lines IMO was in Field of Dreams when he stands menacingly over Kevin Costner (about to strike Costner with a baseball bat). Kevin interrupted his anger with "You're a pacifist" at which point JEJ snarls "Damn" and drops the bat and turns away instead of hitting him.
