I will say Hollywood is one of my least favorite QT movies though. I have no idea why that movie is so beloved; it’s nowhere near top tier Tarantino IMO.

I get that and wasn’t sure how I felt about it the first time I saw it tbh, in part because I just had this melancholy feeling the whole time since I know what happened to Sharon Tate. But after repeated viewings i appreciated its greatness. Never got there with the Kill Bills. Some scenes are great rewatchables but overall doesn’t do it for me,

This is one movie that I’ve never seen and always go back and forth on whether or not I’d like it. I like QT movies a lot but this one always felt different to me for some reason. How does it rank with his other movies?

I won’t argue that it’s the best QT film. But it is my favorite QT film. You should certainly give it a watch.

Micheal Keatons played the character Ray Nicolette previously in Out Of Sight, which was a Soderberg movie based on another novel by the same author as Jackie brown.

Elmore Leonard was a brilliant writer and a perfect source for QT. They share a capacity for great dialogue. Other movies from EL books: Get Shorty, 52 Pickup, and 3:10 to Yuma. I need to watch 52 Pickup again, Roy Scheider was great in that. EL also wrote two Raylen Givens books, which were the basis for the Justified tv series.

without question…we’ve probably watched Jackie brown more than any other movie by anybody, except for maybe the princess bride. I doubt a day goes by when either my wife or I don’t quote something from Jackie Brown

“Where’s the car, Louis????”

Tarantino’s most mature and grounded movie

Agreed. It's his most linear story, as well, without a bunch of flashbacks that are needed to explain a character's backstory like most of his other movies.
This movie also illustrates just how underrated an actor Samual Jackson is.

I think Robert Forester as Max Cherry is Tarantino’s most underrated character

He's probably underrated but he gets chosen for a lot of wrong roles that just don't fit his personality/acting persona, imo.

Get Shorty is a great read and a great watch, no two ways about it. Didn't read 52 Pickup, but the movie was great when I watched it 30 years ago (not sure I want to rewatch it; that's a tough scene).
