Half Blood Prince and Goblet were the worst book to movie adaptations. I actually think that Deathly Hallows 1 is the best one. Not the best movie, but very faithful to the book.
I get why they ended the HBP movie the way they did. It wasn’t the type of movie that built up to a big battle. Having more of an in and out made more sense after viewing many times.
Leaving out Voldemort's backstory was a disappointment for sure when we saw the movie in theaters.
I’m not sure their particular reasons, but that scene may having given away too much. Rickman already showed a lot of conflict on the tower when he death cursed Dumbledore. Having that scene would’ve left no doubt that he was doing it unwillingly.
While I’m not sure if Voldemort and Harry circling for what would’ve been like five minutes of dialogue would have worked on the big screen, I hated the way they did end it in the movie. And completely changing the ending with respect to the elder wand served no purpose.
Also, Lavender was nothing more than a plot driver to get Hermoine and Ron together.

Like what is Ron’s relationship with Lavender remotely relevant in the final two films?
I dunno but now it's fun to point out Lavander was a always played by a black actress right up until they made her Ron's love interest.

Didn't stop them from letting the audience know Barty Crouch Jr was a bad guy from the get go in Goblet.

Really?
I wasn’t even aware that she was in the movies until the Ron/Lavender relationship.
Interesting.
Also, the Ron/Hermione relationship is the worst thing that Rowling did.
Ron was such a bum.

est of the film, when it should have been exceptionally dark
I’ve read all the books and yes the books mature as the series moves on but you gotta put all this in context. The movies are marketed as the height of family entertainment and something to bring the kids to that you will also enjoy.
Complaining about a movie that people will take their 7 year old to because it isn’t “exceptionally dark” is kind of silly.
The books naturally force a kid to wait to a more appropriate age because they increase in breadth and depth past what younger kids are naturally going to read.
Parents and kids are going to pick up a 2000 page book in the bookstore and realize…maybe I should wait a couple years

Imagine thinking about this a decade later
Guess it’s payback for all the gingers that were erased and replaced by black people in film

I'm sure there was massive backlash for the people who hate race swapping characters for no reason. I mean they always say they would hate it if a black character was replaced by a white character. I'm sure they backed that up.

Does she have spoken lines or is this a situation where a “background” character is credited?
It’s been a while since I’ve seen the movies.
This is also the first time I have even heard of this.
Looks like the character was played by two different people prior to the ginger.

Best book of the series that easily was the worst film in the series.
Agreed.

Completely butchered the mystery in that book which was the best of the seven book mysteries.
Are you saying the “mystery” is the best or that the book is the best?
Because, given any little bit of thought, “Goblet” is the dumbest of the books.

Watched it before reading any of the books and it is my favorite, read the books and can understand how you would be pissed off if you read the book first but in my mind they are two separate entities.
