It wasn't rebooted b/c Superman can't carry a franchise and they most certainly have not added Batman for that reason either.
Sorry but you couldn't be more wrong.
Right now you are at best coming off like a Marvel fanboy by claiming the DC outfits are too much while completely ignoring that Marvel suits are just as outlandish.

I wonder how many innocent civilians will die as Bats and Sups settle their differences.

There really were no casting missteps in Man of Steel (the problems were in the plot and script).
Any Adams certainly was. I mean, she wasn't Bosworth bad, but she just doesn't give off the spunky Lois Lane vibe.

I am admittedly a total ignorant dumbass when it comes to comic books of any kind, but how exactly does Superman even fight Batman? Like how is Batman even a challenge for Superman? The Superman in Man of Steel was insanely strong.
Well, if he has Kryptonite weaponized he can. And in The Dark Knight Returns, Superman was just finished with being nuked into an oblivion and barely surviving it, to where Batman took advantage of it.

Not sure. I'm thinking Batman tells Superman to GTFO and find another space home, because so far his presence on a macro level has caused far more destruction than # of lives saved.

actually the praise far outweighs the criticisms on here. the DC movies are by far much more opposite. the praise for those films are sparse while the critiques are overwhelmingly negative.
you want link through years of threads for proof? just read most of your post counts on marvel movies vs dc movies. youre probably one of the most biased towards those films and defended most of those abominations

Troll on.
Superman has had more successful franchises than any other superhero, including Batman.

I am not denying that silly costumes exist in the Marvel world.
For film, yeah the DC heroes as a whole, got work to do. I'm excited to see these movies as well but I would much prefer to see them looking more like a modernized version of their Injustice: Gods Among Us than what I am seeing in the Justice League cartoon.
I think it is also a big plus that people can identify most Marvel characters without a costume at all.

People take this stuff real serious huh? Seems like a decent name, but I also think this movie will be just fine as long as they focus on Batman/Superman relationship

My guess is
Lex Luthor will emerge as an advocate against Superman and condemn all his action from Man of Steel labeling him some sort of menace to Earth.
Luthor will seek out Wayne seeing as how the rebuilding of an entire city would probably require the merging of guys of this type of wealth (Also billionaires just happen to know billionaires, also Clark fricked up one of Wayne's satellites, I am sure that shite was not cheap) Also I expect for Luthor to use this to look good, be the "real hero of Metropolis" or something like that.
This will cause Bruce to start with an antagonistic view of Superman and thus begin their fighting.
But this is all just a guess.
I also think it might be cool if this film just begin with the understanding that we all aware of Batman and need know origins or retelling of the genesis of Batman, so we can just hit the ground running.

I agree with all of that. I do think Luthor will have ulterior motives, and Batman will find it out and join Superman.

Ultimately, the title is moot; it's more disheartening that someone (Goyer) is working on this that thinks She Hulk is a sex toy and created for the sole purpose of giving nerds something to jerk off to. fricking hack.

I don't want to get into a DC/Marvel pissing contest because I just don't care that much, but the reason that Marvel movies are generally more praised here and elsewhere is that the DC movies, as a group, have been far worse.
The reason is simple: Warner Brothers has no f'n respect for the fans or the source material. Every time Goyer opens up his mouth, he's saying something stupid and just openly antagonistic to comic fans... y'know, the people who love these characters the most and want to see the movie the most. You alienate your core constituency, it's not going to end well for you unless you're making a truly great movie. And if Zach Snyder's directing, the odds are low.
Seriously, read this recent link, though its about She-Hulk, a Marvel property. Here's what he asked an audience of comic fans:
LINK
"How many people that raised their hands have ever been laid?”
Aren't we past this kinda crap? It's not like comic books aren't the backbone of the Hollywood summer cash cow. You make these movies with contempt for the comic book industry, and it shows through in your work.
To flip it on Marvel, that's why the new Spidey films suck so hard. They exist solely for the studio to keep its copyright. They churned out a movie just because they had to make one, not because they cared at all if it was any good. And it showed.

Pal, just remember, for some of us, Man of Steel DID live up to its hype. I know you left the theater with a "meh" reaction, but I saw it twice in the theaters and really dug it both times.
I loved all the pieces of the movie, didn't like the plot and the overwrought action, that's all.

Continuing to defend your title as best poster on this board.

actually, I think you might have missed a bit that makes the comments even worse.
its not just that he has a f-ed up view of She-Hulk.
part of it was in response to Martian Manhunter.
what a dickhead
that really doesnt give me much confidence in his vision for the DC cinematic universe.

But then the hits kept on coming as the conversation turned to a fan-favorite DC Comics character. Goyer was asked how he would translate the J’onn J’onzz aka Martian Manhunter to film. As Goyer is one of the people in charge of bringing the DC Universe to live action, this was definitely a topic where his ideas carried weight. In response to being asked about the hero, Goyer asked, “How many people in the audience have heard of Martian Manhunter?” After hearing some light applause and cheers, he added, “How many people that raised their hands have ever been laid?”
After this, Goyer explained his take on the hero: “Well, he hasn’t been rebooted but he’s a mainstay in the Justice League. He can’t be fricking called the Martian Manhunter because that’s goofy. He can be called Manhunter… The whole deal with Martian Manhunter is he’s an alien living amongst us… So he comes down to Earth and decides, unlike Superman who already exists in the world now, that he’s just going to be a homicide detective… So instead of using super-powers and mind-reading and like, oh, I could figure out if the President’s lying or whatever, he just decides to disguise himself as a human homicide detective. Dare to dream!”
Goyer went on: “I would set it up like The Day After Tomorrow. We discover one of those Earth-like planets… So maybe like… we get the DNA code from that planet and then grow him in a petri dish here… He’s like in Area 51 or something and we’re just basically… doing biopsies on him. Then he gets out and he’s really angry and he fricks She-Hulk.”
So to recap. She-Hulk is just a sex power fantasy rather than a character with agency who from the beginning went down a different path than her cousin, The Hulk. Martian Manhunter being the last survivor of a race which died out on Mars over a thousand years ago is goofy, but putting him Area 51 and using the same plot as many alien visitor movies is not. And God forbid superheroes embrace some goofiness and absurdity.
what a dickhead
that really doesnt give me much confidence in his vision for the DC cinematic universe.

People still routinely think TDK is one of the greatest movies of all time. TDK and Batman Begins as a group were in this Board's Top 20 films OF ALL-TIME. Superman. Everyone loved. Heck, I even defend Green Lantern as a not terrible film.

Dude I think Superman is the greatest comic book movie ever made. Like no contest. I think Burton's Batman's are quite good, and I even like the hell out of Batman Forever. Arrow is easily one of my favorite shows on television. And their animation is a good step above Marvel's. Learn some facts before the accusations. The only DC film I'm pretty vocal about is TDKR. And BvS because again, weird choices. I'm not alone on that one. But I reserve judgement until I see it.

Seriously. This a-hole isn't Kevin Smith. Haven't heard many filmmakers that aren't also comedians treating their fans in such a way, and even they do it tongue and cheek knowing if they weren't famous, they'd be fricked as well. That guy has a massive ego that needs to be brought back to earth.

It's a glibness that's reflective in his writing. Zack Snyder isn't a great director but I'd much rather it be solely his project than having to share it with a guy that the studio is forcing on him because he's associated with the success of Nolan's films, regardless of the fact that he had nothing to do with said success.
Posted on 5/21/14 at 9:16 pm to OMLandshark
It's good to show contempt for your audience.
Oh wait. Silly me. Comic book readers, the actual reason said IPs are even on the table to be made into movies, aren't the audience he's trying to get to see it.
He wants the mouthbreeding lowest/greatest common denominators to come and see epic set pieces with stuff blowing up. Following the Michael Bay/James Cameron template
