It may be time to quit all premium streaming services for movies...

And start renting movies individually. For past few years I've been a movie hound with every streaming service invented I believe, rotating in and out. Since I cut cord a year ago I really went full bore on movie watching. I just cancelled Criterion Channel after 5 months, and it was well worth the price.
I've got about 2 dozen movies I currently want to watch, written down. After searching on Roku and reelgood.com, only about half are on any of the streaming services spread out over several, other half 48 hr. rentals only. Anyone else gotten so movie saturated that you now rent individual movies, or rent/buy the discs? Since I've got a relatively new 4k big screen I might go ahead and splurge on a Blu-Ray player and rent discs from the netflix service.

I still buy Blu-ray’s and add them to my plex server for personal consumption.

Yes. DVD or Blueray levels.
I keep that plan for whenever something isn't available on the main streamers.

This option is totally dependent on the size and budget of the city where you live, but a lot of libraries have large movie collections.
If you are lucky (and Knoxville TN is), there'll be someone on staff who's a movie fan and who will see that they add current releases as well as historic movies (going back to the silent movies).
Baton Rouge even has a telescope that the library will loan out

Books, magazines, audio books, CD-ROMS, books on CD and music CDs check out for 3 weeks and may be renewed 3 times for a maximum loan period of 12 weeks. A total of fifty items may be checked out per card. There is no specific limit on the number of books and magazines.
The limit on audio books is 10. The limit on music CDs is 10. The limit on CD-ROMS is 5.
Videos, DVDs and Blu-ray check out for one week and may be renewed twice for a maximum loan period of 3 weeks.
The limit is 15 items for all video formats; any combination of DVD, VHS or Blu-Ray.
Paintings and sculptures check out for 6 weeks and may be renewed once.
The telescope is available for adult check-out, for a week at-a-time, at the Main Library and must be returned to the Main Library.
Prior to being eligible to check the telescope out, Library Card Holders must attend a brief presentation on how to use and care for the telescope.
Items are renewed from the date of renewal -- not the original due date.
An item may not be renewed if another patron has an open reservation for that title.

This thread went from "should I rent movies" to "the library has a telescope" and "frick New Generation".

I prefer to support America by subscribing to movie services

Same. I maintain a list of about 100 movies, new and old, that aren't available on the streaming services I have.

I still get the red envelopes every week. Sometimes I kinda miss going to a video store.
