It boggles my mind that some people still try to argue that TLJ is a great movie...

No they don't and there's really no point arguing it with them.

I read an article where some clown said: "The Last Jedi is a great film - but is it the greatest Star Wars movie of all time?"

Then he ranks Empire Strikes Back #1 (so you start believing he's rational.)

Then he says all the prequels are the worst Star Wars movies so there's no point in comparing TLJ to them.

So then he compares TLJ to all the other Star Wars films:

1. TLJ vs. Rogue One - winnner, TLJ
2. TLJ vs. The Force Awakens - winner, TLJ
3. TLJ vs. Return of the Jedi - winner, TLJ

And...

4. TLJ vs. A New Hope - winner, TLJ

quote:

Star Wars is probably the most iconic blockbuster-type movie ever made.

But it’s not as well-made as The Last Jedi. It’s not as exciting, or as well-acted, or as funny on purpose. As a writer-director, George Lucas was capable of being funny by accident, whereas Johnson actually pulls off a mother joke in the opening scene of The Last Jedi.

As a phenomenon, Star Wars is unparalleled. As an actual film, The Last Jedi is better.

So there you have it: The Last Jedi is the best Star Wars film that’s not Empire.

It shocks me that a large group of adults keep bitching about a kid's movie they supposedly can't stand two and half years after its release.

I haven’t met anyone that says it’s a great movie. I have met a bunch of people that do not think it’s the worst movie of all time, it ruined my childhood and director should never work again...I’m in that camp

Dude. You can't be serious. Do you consider Marvel movies to aimed at adult audiences as well?

According to the cinema marketing data firm Movio Media, the average purchaser of an advance ticket for JJ Abrams’s space opera in the US is a 34-year-old male. And 70% of ticket holders are men between the ages of 18 and 49. According to Movio Media, the average advance ticket holder is a regular cinemagoer who usually travels to see big-budget fantasies such as Jurassic World or Avengers: Age of Ultron on opening night, and spends 2.6 times more than the national average amount on watching movies.

It really is amazing. I rewatched it before The Last Jedi and it was even worse than I remembered.

I think parts of it are better than any other star wars movie. I think it's visually the best looking Star Wars. The throne room scene is fantastic. Anything with rey, kylo or Luke is good. Anything not involving them though is pretty rough. I have it ranked in the middle of the films.

I mean it is owned by Disney, who can't do a Lizzie McGuire reboot because they wanted it to be pg13 lol.

Also, Lucas himself believes the target Audience of Star Wars has alway been 12 year olds.

I think certain film makers THINK these genres are for kids only, and that's where mistakes are made.

Original Star Wars trilogy fit into the same demographics as WW2 movies, and Errol Flynn movies.

You had war buffs drooling over the detailed models, you had great escapist fantasy. You had clear-cut good and bad guys.

With Marvel, I can't say as much with the later waves. But Tony Stark's Iron Man was 100% aimed at young adult males.
