Eddie Murphy doing James Brown was gold:

Mr. Robinson’s Neighborhood was also fantastic.

Not a skit, but Norm MacDonald as Weekend Update was amazing. YouTube link The Frank Stallone running joke ruined me.

It's hard to answer because even though it sucks now there were so many great ones. Recurring skits I could watch all day are Stefon on Weekend Update and Kenan's Steve Harvey Family Feud

Also Kate McKinnon's stories in the alien abduction skits cracking everybody up made me laugh as much as anything on SNL

Everyone has their favorites from the era when they were most interested in the show.

For me, my two favorites are:

1. The Clarence Thomas senate confirmation hearing

2. Male synchronized swimming LINK

This is a one time skit (hopefully they bring it back if Affleck hosts again), but Ben Affleck as Keith Olbermann might be their most spot on impersonation the show has ever done. Him bitching about his apartment’s “No Pet’s Policy” and comparing it to the Trail of Tears just gets me everytime. Countdown with Keith Olbermann

That was good. The turning to the camera reminded me of the classic Norm impersonations of Larry King news and views

From 1990. Another one they'd never do today. Hilarious.

I never understood the appeal of SNL. Never have, never will. But yes, that is a funny skit.
