Best Actor- Gary Oldman (Darkest Hour)
Best Actress- Frances McDormand (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri)
Best Supporting Actor- Sam Rockwell (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri)
Best Supporting Actress- Allison Janney (I, Tonya)

All four have won the Critics Choice, Golden Globe and SAG awards which are three of the five major acting awards along with the BAFTA and Academy Awards. Furthermore, actors makes up the biggest voting block among Oscar voters and the SAG Awards have predicted at least three of the four acting winners for the past nine years. It seems like the Oscar lineup is virtually sealed at this point.

I don't see white people sweeping all the awards.

Whoever played the minority, transsexual dying of some desease but trying to establish civil rights will win in all the categories.

Hopefully, there will be more than one of them competing in the same category, so we can watch the faggy little SJW slap fight where they try to out-victim each other.

Whitey vs blacky doesn't mean anything this year... It's all about TIME BEING UP!!

I would assume no men will win any award Oscar night... Including best actor categories... They'll somehow figure out a way to eliminate the categories because Weinstein was a pervert.

Lady Bird is going to sweep the non acting majors... Best Director, best picture, best original screenplay... It's a lock.

Yep, and as always, in the end, it will mean precisely jack shite. It isn't going to make some movies better and others worse. The fact that they think their self-loving mutual dicksuck achievement award is the be all, end all of artistic accomplishment, is just another of their many grandiose delusions.

I’d expect some heat from Laurie Metcalf(Lady Bird) for supporting actress, and I’d like to see Timothee Chalamet(Call Me By Your Name) challenge for best actor

Frances said to give the awards to someone younger and called her actor a doorstop tonight

Laurie Metcalf should be winning in the Supporting Actress category over Janney IMO. The other acting awards are all spot on to me.

The biggest SJW who will make the biggest Anti-Trump speech will win. Oprah for the win even though she didn't do a movie this year.

Will function as a lifetime achievement award - the Oscars are a joke that he hasn't received more nominations, much less never won. Of course, BAFTA and GG haven't showered him with accolades either.

Maybe he's more of an actor to film fans than to critics?

It definitely has a shot for Best Picture.

Also, this thread is going exactly as I expected it to go.

That is a solid list of winners. I'd be fine with that.

I think that is part of it. Outside of Tinker Tailor Solider Spy, what movies has he been in that you would consider "Oscar" type films?

He is fantastic, and it is a shame that it has taken this long for him to be seriously considered.

Both Supporting categories are far from a lock.

I'd say Leon:The Professional & The Fifth Element.

Every single frame, sound, nuance, effect, fade of True Romance was Oscar worthy - some days, I think it was the perfect film - although I rarely list it in my GOAT candidate, I would say it is one of the GOAT underrated films.

Boom - another one - if he didn't deserve at least a nomination, then nobody does for best supporting actor.

Yall are naming films that are super popular with fans (I liked them a lot, too) but didn't get onto the Academy's radar.
