We started it last night and only watched episode 1 but I thought it was pretty good.
Worth watching the whole thing?
Stays interesting?

Another yes. Claire Foy is rather cute, too.

One of the best series out there. Phenomenal acting and top-notch production values. Sure, they’ve taken some creative liberties, but it still offers a fascinating look at the life of Elizabeth II and her family.

I couldn’t get into it. Watched the first 3 episodes and thought that the people who recommended it were messing with me. I guess it gets better but I couldn’t power through

I don’t know what to tell you then. You have horrendous taste.
It’s a truly amazing show and almost universally respected. It is very very good.

I've watched the whole series so far--I really enjoyed the whole thing.

Absolutely.
Wife and I binged the first 2 seasons then had to wait for the third. Binged that in 2 days and were pissed
Its a vicious cycle, but well worth it. Great show.

Yea this show is fantastic
It is slower paced than I think a lot of folks are used too but the acting is off the charts.
Other things they absolutely nail are the sets, the wardrobe, and the cinematography.

As others are saying, definitely.

My one big complaint is that Claire Foy should have played Elizabeth II for one more season. Olivia Coleman was just a little too old to play Elizabeth Ii at that age period. They could have easily made Claire Foy look a little older.

I liked Claire Foy, but she was frankly too much of a dime to be QE2... If you look at pics from the 70’s, QE2 looks a lot like Olivia Coleman.
Eta: and to answer the original question, yeah it’s a great show if you like a slow burn.

Just finished season 1 and this might be the best show out there as far as production quality.
It’s incredible.
It’s incredible.

This is my favorite scene out of the whole series.
Here we have a king in King George VI that is recognizing and accepting his mortality and at the same time taking his place with the common folks in the worship of God, the King of all kings.
An adorable little girl offering her King a homemade paper crown, the King accepting it and then sings God's music with her family and the carolers and then having a moment where he looks at his wife, two daughters and the rest of his family and he comes to terms with his mortality and quietly accepts that he's going to die very soon and meet the King of all Kings in Heaven and he still continues to sing his praises.
And the carolers and the royal family look at the King with only mild concern over his show of emotion but they do not posses a full understanding of the significance of the moment.
Such a powerful moment.
