Also, this cinematic attempt to "humanize" the inhuman power-hungry monarchs of Europe is dystopian. As Americans, we should scoff in disdain at this portrayal of an oppressive head of State that does not serve the People but parasitically promotes his own family interests ahead of his "subjects".

You may have fame, money and even power as a monarch but you have no absolutely no freedom at all.
It’s for that reason why George VI is someone who never wanted to be King in the first place and did everything he could to make sure his brother did not abdicate so he could live a quiet life with his wife and two daughters.
He viewed his brother’s abdication as a betrayal and treated him as just that.
His daughter Elizabeth was the same as well and she was devastated when she became Queen at just 25 after her father died so young at just 56 years of age.

Constitutional monarchies are some of the most stable societies on earth and they clearly have the right idea separating the head of state role away from the head of government who does the dirty work of managing the day to day political affairs of the country.

I agree with this, she aged 30 years in what was really 4 years. She looked 35 when the Kennedy's visited and then looked 60 when LBJ became President.

Just finished season 2, holy shite what a show. I heard it just gets better with e wry season and that season 4 was incredible.
The budget on this show had to be unreal.

Every actor is incredible on this show.

No it is not. We stopped caring about the Limeys in 1776.

Edward is an a-hole, so is Tommy

Tommy Lascelles is an a-hole but he steered the monarchy in the right direction when the Monarch was making destructive decisions that may seem inconsequential in a vacuum but they add up in the long run.
He would've fricked Charles up over the nonsense he pulled with Diana.
And if he was able to survive the stroke over Harry, he would've made sure Meghan stayed in America doing bits here and there as the the third rate actress she is.

"Claire Foy is quite cute": for a totally different perspective on her acting skills, check her out in The Girl In The Spiders Web. She goes from a tattooed biker/hacker to the Queen of England & nails both characters. And the portrayal of LBJ as a crude lout is right on as well.

Mostly how messed up the relationships with Diana and Charles and Diana and the Queen were

I'm in the middle of season 4 right now. I swear. Sometimes, I forget that I am watching an actress play Diana. Just freaking incredible.

The scene where QE2 pays him a visit at home to get his advice on allowing Edward back into public service and Tommy rips it to shreds by giving her additional info on the Marburg Files is incredible.
I didn't care for Tommy Lascelles at first but really grew to like him over the course of season 2.
