That people don’t mention LSU before 2000 because before that, they weren’t national contenders?
LSU was good in the 80s and prior.
We just had a dark football decade in the 90s.

Double Jeopardy.
Hear me out. It was ahead of it's time.
West Coast frick transplants to New Orleans.
Develop a cringy fake accent.
Escaped convict wife on the loose in the city.
Two shootings.
One murder.
Ex-con murderer walks free.

Bruh
The people in the movie were slightly fictionalized versions of people the author knew growing up in Natchitoches.

Waterboy is more accurate.

The 2000 joke was started by other SEC school fans (mostly Bama) on social media and message boards because by the time those became a thing, most of LSU's relevant football success had picked back up with Saban and so LSU fans tended to point towards recent success rather than 40-50 year old success.
No LSU fan says or believes that LSU football didn't exist prior to 2000. We just hate the history of the 90s. And 90s and prior football accolades are less relevant in the 21st century due to time (which is what upset other teams at the time and lead to the joke.)

There is another one that is extreme in its portrayal of folks from Louisiana but, still pretty good. It was filmed partly on the Calcasieu River close to the Goos Ferry crossing, my mom lived very close. It's called "Little Cheniere".

Don’t hate us because LSU Superintendent burned your shite city down and because when people think of your state they think of Ned Beatty squealing like a pig.

I just always assumed Hard Target was the movie you all most associated with your state. Curious to see that it hasnt even been mentioned once.

The writer and producer of “Little Chenier” was a brother sister team from Lake Charles. About the only movie where I didn’t cringe at the accent. At the end of the movie they do a before and after shots of Rita. The chapel scene was shot at a chapel in Elton and majority was shot in south west La.

I would say Fletch Lives which is filmed in Thibodaux, LA.
That movie screwed up my vision of being up da bayou in Thibodaux with there being a commercial airport, a televangelist that built a broadcast center and a theme park.
I was a teenager before I realized there was none of this in Thibodaux.
Actually while at Nicholls in the 2000’s, the law office where they filmed the Bug Busters scene, I went to a study group there.

No, after you leave active duty you do a reserve obligation. I did La. National Guard, the movie showed some to be rather squared away and that isn’t the case.

Do you realize how many NC’s LSU won in various sports prior to 2000?
It will never not be hilarious how insecure smalltown Louisiana people are.
Guy makes an obvious joke that any football fan should get, but yall can't let it go because yall got your poor little Looziana feelings hurt.
Yeah, the whole world was really in awe of those track and baseball teams or whatever the frick, and were all really impressed by how yall all knew some ole baw back when he was just in high school.
