Some white lighting guy from the movie will get a nomination, but no one else.

it even had Oprah

I laughed my arse off so hard when literally no one was nominated for this movie. The tools that made this movie thought it was a shoehorn in for Best Picture win, and didn't get a single nomination.

And they laughed all the way to the bank when it made $177 Million at the box office on a $30 Million budget

Jason Sudekis almost looks like he's laughing in the scene. I think it might be a spoof movie

White people should boycott it.

Won't be an issue for this one.

Personally I feel like having a movie about racism whose tag line is "YOURE WHITE YOU DONT UNDERSTAND" and calling it "Race" is a touch on the nose
Has anyone here actually watched the trailer?

There's an element of racial politics, yeah, but it's mostly a biopic.
Looks pretty good.

And this is hardly Oscar season for new movies

And that's not the tagline.

Looks like it could be a pretty corny movie, BUT . . .

Jesse Owens performance was a pretty fricking big deal at the Berlin Olympics.

Racial discrimination was a pretty big fricking deal in the 1930's.

The Third Reich's views and policy on race constituted a pretty big fricking deal.

Leave it to some people on this board to get a burr up their arse about any attempt to make a movie about race, not matter how legit the subject matter.

If Glory came out today the usual suspects would be whining about it being race bait.

Apparently some of you are confusing race-baiting with Oscar-baiting with a racial context.

Mississippi Burning and Crash are both very good films.

No. Crash was oscar-baiting.

It was just also race-baiting.

And Crash was a shite film.

I have no idea about that film, will reserve judgement.

But fricking Crash happened, bruh.

Just because a movie covers the topic of race, does not make it an important film.
