Yes. But not recently, and some of his stiff is overrated.

Why do you care what we think? Decide for yourself.

Are you over the age of 12 ?

He’s an a-hole and a conspiracy theorist. Some of his stuff is good and some of it is painfully pretentious

Once.

He went on a string of good films in the late-80s/early-90s with hits like Platoon, Born on the Fourth of July, and JFK. He had some other solid films (such as Natural Born Killers and Wall Street) but really lost his groove when he directed U-Turn and has yet to get it back.

Perhaps I have decided for myself yet I am interested in hearing what others have to say.

Humble yourself.

Platoon was strereotyped, hackneyed tripe.

I recently rewatched Platoon thinking I'd enjoy it again, you know Best Picture and all.

Man, that movie is over the top in trying to cram all the complaints and public perceptions into one movie.

I'm surprised Stone didn't have Sheen come home and get spit on at the airport (which is a myth btw.)

And the voice over doesn't work. And most of the characters seem like caricatures.

Great film maker but his later stuff (after Natural Born Killers and Nixon) was not very good.

Discussing opinions is kind of the entire point of a message board. That guy's just being pissy.

I still love Wall Street.

That movie is like a time machine.

The sequel sucked.

He was but it has been a long road downhill.

Salvador, Platoon, Wall Street, JFK, etc showed real talent.

The last film of his I bothered to watch was Any Given Sunday. I haven’t had the inclination to see Alexander, W, Savages, etc.

I saw Alexander in the theater because I'm s history buff.

I was shocked how bad it was. Overly melodramatic, constant soliloquies by everyone, over-acting, incoherent narrative..
I gave up about 3/4 through this mess...and that wasn't hard to do even though one of my Favorite docs is Michael Wood's In the footsteps of Alexander.

There's one good scene in the film when Alexander fights Darius at Gaugamela.

1991 JFK
1991 The Doors
1987 Wall Street

Are his best movies to me.

I actually thought the sequel was pretty good. The original is awesome though.

Alexander was one of the most disappointing films I have ever seen.

So much rich material to work with...the character, the time period, the settings, the cultures, the conflicts and battles, the historical aspects, etc. And it just missed the mark on everything.
